It’s reassuring to know Thursday Boots are good value for the level of quality. Even though $200 isn’t a lot of money for good year welted boots, it’s a lot of money for me. So I’m happy to see I made the right choice. 👍

@@s0bad Sorry for this late response, but just incase someone in the future looks at this. I've had 2 inconsistent pairs of redwing iron rangers. It isn't just Thursday that has inconsistencies. Both had issues in the heel either having a hard ridge, or uneven inner heels in the boot. Just had to bite the bullet unfortunately.

Would of felt more comfortable if he wore some sort of cut resistant glove, but I understand why he did that way because he had a hard time angling it and trying to find a good grip to hold the boots for the cut, if he used the proper tool knife no issue but since he loves us and doing it for us I let this slide but he should have taken some or bought safety equipment

What I really like about the Diplomat compared to other Moc Toes is they don't have huge clown shoe toe boxes. A nice thing about Thursdays right now is that they are still improving their shoes when you buy a new one you know they should be better quality. It looks like they may need to start using leather counters though.

True. It is nice to see a sleeker moc toe. But I like the classic silhouette of the heritage moc toes like red wing as well. It is a more severe and distinct look but that is also the charm. Buy them in the correct size and they dont go full clown shoe.

Leather counters mean a more expensive product. I avoid Thursday boots, despite the price point, because I can buy a much longer lasting pair of moc toes from Red Wing or White’s for $50-$75 more. Not many people will resole their Thursday boots. Red Wing and White’s are supposed to last several resoles.

Racism💀 you surely don't know grant stones, they're more quality then most heritage boot brands but Chinese made with american leathers and European leathers What's the difference between Mexico made and Chinese made if it doesn't have to be american made? They're both OUTSOURCED and Chinese can made amazing things, it's just that ever since reagen (worst most un-American pres of all time) , he made the entire outsourcing crisis because the cheap labour prices and companies try to get away with going as cheap as possible to make products bit make you pay high tags But.... that's not all Chinese production It's same with Mexico tho? There's cheap crap made there too look at levis today with the lifestyle branding crap and just beat the he'll outta the ded horse with online marketting, advertising and paying effluential people to wear em. Mexico has cheap labour prices too though is what I mean, they're just closer to america

Love this channel is and love your work as well as your detailed breakdown of these boots. Watching you cut rubber toward your own hand with a kitchen knife made me uncomfortable, though.😅

I don't like that style sole on that style boot, but I like that boot... I think I'd get a pair, wear them down, then resole with a Vibram 100 style sole in black, keep the brown midsole for the contrast. On a full reconstruction, I'd want the welt left brown or natural.

I would like to see you do a video on the Grant Stone Ottawa which are kind of like a moc toe. It's a NST and the Grant Stone Brass boot. I have not seen either ones done on your videos. I have 3 pairs of the Ottawa's but none of the Brass boots so I would like to see what you think of them. Thanks.

Can we see some Frye boots up on here! Curious to see what the quality is like compared to their older boots say from the 60s or 70s. I feel they went from a quality product to a lower quality style brand while maintaining the high retail price.

Can you cut apart some women's boots? I'm interested to see if women's chelsea (or combat) boots are built similarly to the men's boots that you have looked at. Brands like Thursday and Ariat. I've been having a hard time finding women's boots that look nice, but are also supportive and don't disintegrate after one year.

Patron boots are made in Mexico and seem to be higher quality then Rock rooster but look a lot a like a Rock Rooster. So I think you answered why they are so in expensive. Although I will admit buying a boot or shoe above 100 is still new to me as I may have mentioned several times before. Sorry about that, not trying to annoy anyone with that info. I remember growing up in a some what poor family so we mainly got shoes that were under 30 from what I recall. I also recall getting them mainly from Payless.I kind of recall even buying shoes for like $12 but that was like 20 years ago so my memory may be off.

I also grew up poor. Only owned one pair of shoes at a time and they were always cheap. High end footwear isn't a necessity but it's fun to have after moving up in the world.

I get the feeling, I grew up poor and often we'd get payless shoes or even Rammate shoes which were super cheap. Now that I'm better off, I'd heavily recommend higher quality shoes and footwear if you're ok with not buying new shoes a lot or just taking good care of them. Always gotta keep in mind the cost per wear!
