    It's only Cost Prohibitive if you only look at the cost of the blades. These blades offer so much more that traditional blades cannot do.

  • @REVNUMANEWBERN
    @REVNUMANEWBERN14 күн бұрын

    $8.00 a tip = 4 tips PER spindle = $32.00 compare with ONE blade cost = $96.00 to replace ALL tips for a 3 spindle mower. Think long & hard BEFORE you lay out those $$$ , I bought one of these setups & when it came to tip replacements I went BACK to the blades and this was about 5 years ago.

  • @PineyGroveHomestead

    @PineyGroveHomestead

    14 күн бұрын

    You are discounting all the other benefits of these blades. They swing away if they hit a solid object. More tips = more even cutting and better mulching...so if you went X-blade your replacement cost of traditional blade doubles. These tips are hardened steel so they last longer than a traditional blade Hardened traditional blades are VERY expensive. We've mowed acreage with these blades and they are still sharp. With traditional blades after about 1 acre they are rounded off and damaging your grass by ripping instead of cutting.

    @@PineyGroveHomestead I'm speaking also of experience, I bought these about 4 or 5 years ago, they WON'T last longer, I WORKED at a name brand Mower MFG plant for 30+ years IN Quality Control, I tested EVERY shipment of blades we got from our vendor, Fisher Barton, ALL those blades were hardened steel. Granted some off the shelf blade companies may NOT be hardened BUT 5 years ago when I was forced into retirement name brand MFG blade vendors were.

    @@PineyGroveHomestead Don't get me wrong.....I loved the Meg-Mo system. It just got to expensive for me when comparing results I could tolerate. I ran Meg-Mo on my Ferris and JD from 2012 to 2016, then economics took over. The harden steel knives held an edge longer than a regular blade. Had I had the money, I would still be running the Meg-Mo system. The system you demonstrated should provide the same result. The Meg-Mo ran quieter and could tolerate wet grass better.....I just couldn't afford them.

    YES Definitely, I bit the bullet & tried these UNTIL I compared the tip replacement costs, it's cheaper to put a new set of standard blades on & just run them till they wear out with NO sharpening, you would THINK these yahoo's would give you a HUGE discount since they have you locked in to using ONLY their blades, but NO !
