    If you ever want to hear something through a subwoofer that's really something; there is a sound effects recording of a stampede. Really awesome. One of the cows must have got mixed in with the herd and you can hear a cowbell at 4:17. The rancher might still be looking for it. Unless the bell was in the background and it was Christmas. Did cowboys care about Xmas? No. Did cowboys have calendars? Not usually. Did cowboys care about subwoofers? I doubt it. Randy described the midrange as veiled and highs as soft. An extra dose of warmth or bass will subjectively make the midrange and highs sound less crisp every time. I mean EVERY TIME. Is that what he is hearing? Listen for yourself instead of going by reviews by certain people, is the best advice someone can give you.

    Damn, from the specs you mentioned it sounds like these things were designed by a car audio guy lol. 4ohm and a rather low sensitivity 1w/1m probably gonna need a little more than a little Topping Amp laying around to push these eh! Great vid my dood! Edit: after watching the full vid and hearing the comments about the bass (being full but a bit clouded and muddy) I am goin to recommend these to a friend. He loves units like this; rather cheap and he likes to take the components and swapping over to his own enclosure like standing T-Lines (based off the simple math off SMD’s T-Line forum post which actually works well) so I’m looking forward to seeing these since that enclosure will speed up the woofer quite a bit and also tends to take less power to get hood sensitivity…. Seems the tweeter can image decently so we’ll see.

    Anything aside from a pair of cymbals smashing you in the face will sound veiled next to the Jamo concert series😂. I think the Monoliths sound much more balanced aside from a definite bump in the low end. In fact they were a little too much for my small bedroom. They sounded a little better in a medium sized room where they can breathe a little.

I bought a pair of walnut 3030i's for $351.75 on Amazon yesterday, and right after my order went through, I saw the price of the walnut 3030i's bump to $469. I suspect that's temporary though. • @overnightdelivery

    @overnightdelivery

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@joelcarson4602 It seems logical that a speaker should use a large driver dedicated to producing low/mid Bass and a midrange driver for the middle frequencies. I recently dusted off an old Sony 'mini hifi' system from the '90s that has 3-way speakers. Absolutely blown away by the clarity AND Bass that it puts out. Treble is a little harsh but the treble detail and bass accuracy makes up for it.The speakers themselves look and feel cheap (Whole system with included amp/3CD player and Cassettes was around $300) but the sound is phenomenal. And I'd heard several decent 2-way speakers. It's stupid that most people would choose minimalist style over actual full range sound quality.

    I don't think that is especially important, except when it comes to acoustic instruments, like piano, horns, strings, woodwinds, etc. I want a system where those sound as much like they do in person as I can afford. However, we still have no idea what processing has been applied to recordings of those instruments either. But, it still doesn't changethe fact that I want those instruments to sound as natural and lifelike as possible to me on recordings I listen to with them. As far as more processed pop and rock recordings, we don't really know what they sounded like in the studio, but from what we've seen of behind the scenes videos of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and others, they often sounded pretty shitty at the time of recording, before the studio magic of EQ, and other enhancements, were apllied in post processing and the mixdown process. On rock, blues, and pop recordings, I've heard my favorite ones on enough speakers that measure neutral to know what they should sound like, and I choose equipment that I can afford that comes closest to that ideal. However, at the end of the day, some people like gear that adds to the sound of recordings, and has its own sound character that it imparts on all recordings, and that's ok, if that's what gives them the most enjoyment. The goal is to find the gear that gives you the most enjoyment and fun when listening to your favorite music, and for some that's the most accurate gear, and for some, they prefer gear that has its own sonic signature, and imparts that on every recording. Complete accuracy is only a requirement in studio monitors. In home audio, it's what gives you the most enjoyment that matters most of all

    How do I know what a song should sound like? I've heard musical instruments and singers for decades. It is easy to tell the difference between a good recording and a crappy one. Engineers are technicians, not artists. They are either competent enough to follow the technology of mixing or they aren't. As with all trades, one gets better with practice and continuing education or becomes known as a hack.

According to adherents, the source of the "Angelic Voices" was viewed as being from a higher source or due to a clarified and exalted condition of the human sense of perception of sound. If you put pins in a map from the location of the secret sources of the Angelic Voices and connect them via yarn, you will we see the form of the treble clef. 🤣

    I wouldn't chalk it up to Monoprice stealing things so much as contracting with OEM suppliers who build things with the same parts. My Monolith turntable is essentially the same thing as the Fluance RT-80/81 and the Elac Miracord 50. They were all built in the same factory using the same parts. My guess is the Monolith speakers and the "name brand" speakers they resemble are probably the same story. People think China inherently builds only cheap things, but China will build to whatever spec you want as long as you're willing to pay the going rate.

    This quote was made by someone we all are familiar with. Whose quote is it? "Pretty near soon the young uns will be shakin' in their britches with joy thinkin' that blain roundy will be payin' them a visit with gifts and toys and sugarplums and marzipan and what not. The ones who ain't the sharpest tools in the shed, they'll gobble it all down like a pole cat with bent whiskers who just found a broke watermelon layinin' on the ground. Then they'll all have tummy aches from washin' it all down with sassparella, and before ya know it, they'll all come callin' on you, and you can gouge em' for some more coin. Doc? Doc?

    Thanks for this review, doesn't sound like Monolith Encore will cut it for me. Currently have elac uni-fi 2.0, kef q350, polk r200 comparing against my 20 year old infinity bookshelf speakers, they are all going back. The polk has slightly deeper bass and slightly airier highs, but the old infinity has better resolution and sensitivity over most of the audible range, more live sounding. The polk is beautifully finished would be my pick of the three.

    Enjoy your posts but have a concern at the regular speed that you are pumping them out at. Do you really give them the fair time that each deserves or are you more interested in the outcome of the numbers you pump thru. Other reviewers sometimes spend weeks if not months to make a review on a product. My thoughts of course. Lucky of course that you are backed by such a prestigious company as “Sith Audio”
