    Had the Go since June this year, and love it. The only weakness is lack of onboard FX. A simple reverb, controllable in the mic and guitar inputs, would be good. (Much like Yamaha do with their Stagepas gear). So, I have to use a small reverb (Zoom) pedal for my acoustic guitar and another reverb (Mic Mechanic) for my mic. Not a big problem, but an easy one to rectify if they wanted to. The sound is great. I always feel like I've filled the whole room with sound, and I'm just on guitar and vocals. I use it on power because I don't want to trust the battery. Okay, tell you what... next gig, I'll run it on battery (with a lead in my bag, just in case). So, I'll be running guitar, mic, stomp (kick) box and MP3 tracks during breaks. Wish me luck.

    Hey. best review of this product! thanks so much! Question about using this unit with wireless mics? is it bluetooth compatible with multiple mics or can I plug 2 x transmitters into this unit?

  • @djlouparis

    @djlouparis

    3 жыл бұрын

    You can plug two receivers into this since you have a combo jack and a 1/4 - Instrument input. Although I do not use mine in this capacity since really you typically need more control over mics as a whole (I use a digital mixer for that). The Bluetooth side is not technically for the mics, although I suppose with the right kit it could be technically used. But I would not advise on that. And as a 99.9% rule of thumb, you would not want to deal with Bluetooth or 2.4GHz mic units in a critical environment. Looks towards 470-608MHz spectrum mics.

    I use the JBL EON ONE rolling transport cases for these. Holds the sub and columns with extra battery. I can just roll wherever I want. I use the Maui 5 Gos in every application. I have 4, so if I really need firepower for a larger room, I just use all 4. If you are cranking them full on, a battery will get you around 3.5 hours and you'll need to swap. As far as protection mode, they have fixed this problem with the current generation. It comes right back on the second it detects a signal. I have personally tested this. Hope this is helpful.

    as soon as you add more than 2 L and R speakers you start having very obvious comb filtering and misalignment effects in the room, especially in spots where projections of the speakers collide the most. Average listeners will not be able to tell you if there's anything wrong with the sound, but as soon as you fix the issues the change is obvious to anyone. So unless you have a processor or a digital mixer that allows you to run the speakers on separate output channels with different delay settings, I wouldn't recommend this approach.

    Richard Ortiz so there are a couple ways to provide an out for the videographer. First with the MG series mixer if I am not mistaken you have a combo of XLR and 1/4 out. You can use all the outs simultaneously so you can let the videographer hang a recorder off the mixer. Or you could use the “thru” output on the Maui for the same thing.

    If they need louder for ceremony or cocktail they either have much larger crowds than I or they are playing way louder than what the occasion intends for. And I've been at a wedding before where that DJ was cranking at cocktail and it was a terrible experience. They are plenty loud for most applications. Are the best sounding in the portable battery class? No I would give the EVERSE8 the title for that. But for me I do not want speaker stands in my setup, so the 5Go is the best option IMO.

    For those planning on buying the model without battery power, there is no line OUT! I was only able to find specs on the Go and assumed both models had the same functions? Simply being able to connect 2 would have been helpful as these are a little underpowered for anything other than smaller venues....Thanks LD! :(

    Interesting bit of knowledge. I wonder why LD didn't go with the line out's on the non-battery model.
