What Matt Hardy described with getting beat without reason is exactly what’s happening to the Hardys in AEW. I would think at some point they would have a big feud with the Young Bucks but nope it’s messing around with Private Party or Top Flight and losing to them in a go nowhere match.

Matt Hardy is a 100% right about this. There are so many veterans who could build up younger stars but they lose every single week so it doesn't mean anything to beat this veteran. Maybe it's a long stretch but John Cena lost so many times before facing Austin Theory at Wrestlemania 39 that me as a fan did not feel anything special when Theory retained his title against him.

Putting someone over shouldn't be getting beat every week, or getting squashed. You would see a veteran getting jobbered and squashed, and then some wrestling fans would be like, "That's them putting the other person over" (snort). No, when that happens, it's not the winner being talked about. Instead, people start thinking of the veteran as a has-been and then tweeting at them to retire every week. What Matt said here is how Veterans are to be booked to put talent over.

I grew up about 20-30 minutes from Cameron, NC and the Hardys were legendary in my city. I personally would love to see Matt return to WWE and do more Woken Matt Hardy because Vince just didn’t get it and Matt never got the opportunity to really shine as that character. He had that feud with Bray Wyatt, but Bray wasn’t allowed to really take the handcuffs off and be the best he could be. And then they got put together as a tag team which was entertaining but was never given anything to do and were left to fizzle out.

Simply put, the Hardy Boyz want to become dominant tag team champions again so that it "means something" when they eventually lose. I love and respect those guys a lot, but in 2024 if they believe they stand a chance of being exactly that in WWE then they are kidding themselves. AEW booked Sting to win the tag titles and retire, and that was done beautifully. I can see Tony Khan doing something similar for Matt and Jeff, the only problem is in Sting's case Darby did most of the hard work, which is understandable. Meanwhile, both Matt and Jeff are way past their prime. Matt's in-ring movement has had better days, and Jeff's history with injuries and concussions is well documented.

The Hardys really tried in AEW but Matt is right. If you aren't viewed properly then nobody will care if you try to put someone over.

Cena hot me into wrestling, The Hardy Boys vs Edge & Christian kept me interested. These are the two greatest tag teams ever, with the dudleys coming just a hairs width behind! Anyone else is filler in comparrison😅

With all the talent that's been cut at AEW, it's hard to see then resigned there. That being said, I don't see them getting what they want in WWE. The tag division needs some more consistency. Maybe the Judgement day dropping the straps will help

WWE dropped the ball on Matt. He was very over, fans loved the hardyz. The V1 gimmick was gold, he was good on the mic and in the ring. He needed the right push/story to take him to the next level and they never did that for him. Only for his brother. I'll always be a little MFer and throw up my V1-AUHHHH!!!! till the day i die.

Jeff has destroyed his reputation. So i honestly cant see anything for them in WWE because they always seemed to prefer Jeff over Matt. Tna is best bet. True chance to go in make impact (no pun) and have a legit fued with an upcoming talent/s that one day may transfer over to the big leagues

Aew had the chance to make a punk and jeff feud again. But they fumbled the bag with that

They need to get back to WWE, run a tourney in NXT, turn heel and manage a stable with a tag team in it. Honestly tho, Jeff has been unlucky with his demons, it's made them too much of a risk.

It seems like Matt has started to come around to the idea that AEW isn't exactly what we were all sold on that it would be.

If Matt and Jeff want more brain damage, stay with AEW. If they really want to be able to help the next generation of tag teams and wrestlers in general, become ambassadors and be featured higher, sign with WWE. Depending on if WWE even want them.
