We have heard a lot of hype about Halal Guys, which originated in New York City. We didn't really believe it until our friends got to try it when they were visiting from Malaysia. Could Halal Guys really be as good as all the rumors claimed? We had to try it for ourselves and see.

Tried it once when I was in NY in 2015 when they're still selling by the roadside. The queue was really long but then I think their kebab suited more the American tastebud than mine. Would love to try again though.

you should try saltys at hartamas…they call it new york rice and i believe its inspired by halalguys..never tried halalguys..but the ones at saltys its to die for 😊

We used to drive from Jersey City, NJ to NY 53rd street just to eat Halal food. Back then this platter was around $6. The line in NY was a minimum 30 minutes and reglardless of cold weather, people use to wait for it. This food is very tasty and still eatting it :)

ive been to NY few times, i always go for the Halal Guys near Manhattan. huge portion and ITS WORTH IT!!!!.
We have that in Houston, Texas.
Looove Halal guys but haven't been there in a few years, glad its still as good as its always been
they have a branch in seoul, korea. it is always jam-packed with people, especially muslim tourists. the food is really scrummy.
my dad had a very bad experience in Oakland one time he was walking down to his car and some guy armed with a gun robbed his wallet so just be careful out their and the same happened with my cousin as well.

@@mathivanangovindan2220 Tamilans are not that many. They covered 9% of Malaysia population but they are doing well in the country. They came to Malaya (name before Malaysia) as plantation workers during British colonial era. Now they are doing well by becoming doctors, engineers, businessman etc.

It depends which location you go to. For example, in USA, each state has its own city. Depending where you go that has Halal Guys, the quality might still be raving favors, while other locations might not. End of the day, Halal Guys is simply like other restaurants and or fast food places.
I don’t eat Halal food knowing that it has Islamic worship attached to it!

Nope. I tried it in London and its crap.
Just ate Halal guys today and really felt disappointed! I must say this is an overrated streetfood. This is not what I expected for a shawarma rice! Being a person who ate shawarma for long years in the Middle East this is not what authentic shawarma and white garlic sauce taste like! Sauce is really plain and bland and the meat is not as fresh as what it should be. For food vloggers, I have been in the Middle East for a long time and the best shawarma that I have eaten would be in Al Ain UAE, the name of the store is Al Amal Cafeteria and you will really differentiate the taste of an authentic shawarma vs this one. Don’t miss it!
