Words and their usage are interesting! At the beginning of a season, all teams are contenders! We are so bent on determining whom we think are the best teams that we tend to forget that anything can happen!

For the people acting like Detroit is so big and bad, the Bears beat them last season already. We would’ve beat them twice if that lead wasn’t blown. Lions almost got swept. Bears fans are not scared of Detroit.

The bears weakness is coaching. Mainly our head coach is the issue. Maybe Shane can be a good OC for us but I’m not sure on that. The coaching is what has held the team back for two years now.

Agreed, not a gimme to Lions. Bears had both games dominating 7 of 8 quarters. Almost had GB at the end of our offense could move the ball. The D kept the Bears in the game. Unfortunately ‘almost’ doesn’t cut it. Should be fun this year! Bears in 2024!

If you're talking about long term, then Jefferson & Addison would be the better choice. But in terms of current talent & production, Moore & Allen are the obvious choice

As a Bears fan, I think we could be a wild card contender next year. I think by 2025 we should be ready to make that big leap to legit contender.

Every draft is the same storylines. “He’s the next Brady, Rodgers or Mahomes! They are just a qb away!”. Baker, Manziel, Trey Lance, Trevor Lawrence, Tebow, Daniel Jones, Andrew Luck, Mac Jones,Watson, Pickett and the list goes on. Maybe he pulls a Stroud and is impressive, but odds are against him.

With this Bears slightly improved defense that was nearly the best in the last half of this last season and a significantly improved offense and the rest of the draft.... This is what we expect from the Bears and Williams. So that we have the minimum expectations and the "too high" expectations. 4000-5000 yards passing, 30-40 TDs, 10-13 wins, a playoff berth - NFC Championship game appearance. Cam Newton, Justin Herbert did the best on paper. CJ Stroud maybe the best full season rookie QB playoff run. ( I know Purdy had one too but😏.) We've never seen a generational rookie QB join an NFL team "this good on paper." If he translates to the NFL and plays all 17 games based on his college game average that's almost 300 yards a game and 2.5 TDs a game = 5000 yards and 40 TD's. I think he's intelligent enough to process the NFL game. It's about the matchups. Will his receivers be open and the offensive line give him time to pass? These are luxuries that most rookie quarterbacks getting drafted early in the draft don't get with the team they join. Then a proven defense! I don't see any reason why Caleb Williams doesn't put on the best rookie performance and numbers we have ever seen in the history of the NFL!

What I do not understand is all the love for GB? Even MN? Did green Bay have a decent year last year...it was avg. But yet they are the toast of the division along with the lions. Can someone pls explain why people hesitate to say if the bears are in better shape than the Vikings? Even with a good QB and JJ, they were still average. Aaron Jones is aging and always injured. Tj Hok is coming off a serious knee injury, at a position where he gets hit hard a lot. Defense isn't top 10. I seriously don't get it. The only team the bears have had historic issues with are the Packers, not the other 2
