We can hate them or love them, but the way that they spaced the floor and create offense, alongside they could play a slower pace with KD when the threes aint falling, is just really beautiful and unique. Right now there's a lot of superstars taking threes like crazy, but to use that range to create easiest and most eficient offense involving everyone is not gonna repeat again in a long time. Bro they will slow down the game. Phil Jackson Will figure out the Warriors and Steve Kerr. I agree threes are better than two but if you focus on that then you don’t know the game of basketball. Lakers has some of the best perimeter defense ever and SHAQ wasn’t a regular center was athletic and skillful they won’t run him out on the contrary they will slow down the game. Plus, There are five ways to score: layups, dunk, 3s, midrange, and post. If you focus on the 3s then the warriors would end up like the 2016 CAVS when they lost to them. I just don’t see the warriors stopping SHAQ I see only foul trouble. Plus Kobe, HARPER, Fox, Fisher, Grant were not scrubs on defense. I’m sorry but I don’t really see the warriors beating those lakers maybe a blitzkrieg but then you’ll be like the Rockets historic playoff performances “live by the 3 die by 3”. Don’t forget the greatest coach ever is on the lakers team! He’ll out coach Steve Kerr 😂

Oh don't get me wrong. They were a great defense, but if we're being honest, it wasn't their overall play on both ends that made them legendary. It was how unstoppable their offensive scheme was on top of the talent they had. Also, being a top defensive team makes a case, but not a strong one. Since team defensive rating has been tracked, on average you can pretty much expect a top 5 defense to win the championship every other year. Since 1984, only 3 title teams finished outside of the top 10 in defensive rating (1988 Lakers, 1995 Rockets, and the 2018 Warriors). Additionally, 7 title teams finished #1 - One of them being the 1996 Bulls, who I would say is the GOAT team. They weren't as loaded as the Warriors, but still managed to finish #1 in offense and defensive rating, had the best record ever at the time, and a more impressive playoff run i.m.o.

If you actually watch some of the games throughout the season you can just tell that it was "cruise control" and not games like the 2016 OKC game the year before where they were 53-5 and famously Curry went nuts in OT to win it and keep them on pace for the record. The Warriors’ bench was also really good defensively, and we know the Bulls bench isn’t anywhere near as stacked. Did I mention that the Warriors’ offensive and defensive scheme is way too advanced. The Cavs also weren't weak, they had three All-Stars in their starting lineup including LeBron was who is better than anyone on the Sonics that year ,though Kemp and Payton are better than Kyrie and Love. Fact is it is debatable because while Jordan was the best and Pippen is right up there the fact is Bill Wellington, an old John Salley, and Luc Longley was an incredibly weak frontcourt. Depending on the era the Bulls wouldn't be able to trot out the lineup they did against the Warriors because the Warriors would destroy those guys. There is also an issue with Rodman who was a brilliant defender and rebounder but an absolute liability on offense. Again, depending on the rules of the era in today's game Rodman would kill the Bulls offense because all the Warriors would need to do is pack the paint, leave their guy off of Rodman, and take out several lanes for Jordan to drive. Ron Harper also wasn't that good of a three point shooter at that time later in his career so they would also sag off of him and if anyone of the Bulls centers were in the game that would be three guys the Warriors could simply ignore and pack the paint and crowd Jordan forcing him to make tough passes in tight windows because of a lack of space. To counter the Bulls would need to put in Steve Kerr and Kukoc to help space the floor on offense but both were liabilities on defense and the Warriors would pick and roll them to death. Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman can hang on defense but the Bulls would have at least two weak defenders on the floor the entire time, weakening what was the 96 Bulls greatest strength. If the Warriors played in the Bulls era then it's a different game as Rodman is less of a liability, the Bulls could hand check more and be more physical but at the same time the Bulls, nor anyone of that era, played a team like the Warriors and the Warriors had enough pieces on their rosters to adapt whereas the Bulls were built for their era. I don't doubt the 96 Bulls could beat the 2017 Warriors in the 90s but it's not a forgone conclusion as the Warriors are still the more talented team overall but the 96 Bulls were not built for this era, nor should they have been, and as great as Jordan was he can't overcome a roster as stacked as the Warriors and furthermore he can't overcome a roster that wasn't built to succeed in today's game with today's rules. Jordan would still thrive but there is more to basketball than one player and furthermore Jordan couldn't thrive the same way as the rules make it more difficult to succeed using a midrange game if the rest of your roster isn't built to space the floor for him to operate.

This is the single most overpowered team ever assembled. It was IMPOSSIBLE to outscore the 2017 Warriors in a game, they even led the league in offense before Kevin Durant joined. Their possessions were basically instant. Due to constant perimeter shooting they were converting at a faster rate than every other team even IF the shots weren't all 3 pointers, but since they WERE basically all 3 pointers, the other team couldn't score faster, and unless the other team also shot 3 pointers at a similarly high percentage, they weren't even going to be close. The scoreboards this season didn't lie. The game clock literally acted as a disadvantage for every team less efficient than them, which was everyone. The Warriors also expended way less energy on offense because they ran a generic pick and roll every time and this was always enough, so most games would end with the other team exhausting their stars trying to match Golden State's output on offense, and it led to most teams having to shoot from 3 point range just to be competitive, which a lot of people myself included didn't like at all. Speaking of energy, they could save it all for defense. They led the league in it. This team that could outscore the 96 Bulls and 01 Lakers if we go by shooting percentage alone, could shut down your team on defense. Then, you consider how the physics of the basketball itself played into this. Whenever they missed a shot, which was rare, ('rare' as in, the rarest) the other team COULDN'T REBOUND IT. The ball would bounce out to the perimeter again, for yet another hyper accurate 3pt shooter to drain the shot. The one thing that could possibly slow this team's offense was defensive rebounding and it didn't stop them ever. This pretty much made the center position irrelevant, since in the rare occasion that it did bounce baseline you just needed someone fast enough to run and grab the speeding thing, then pass it to the wing again, which meant larger centers were pointless. In the history of the game, the one ability that has always mattered the most out of all others, is the ability to put the ball in the basket. This team did it faster, more consistently, and by more players, than any team in history.

Really hard to say because the rules are so different today than it was 20-30 years ago. GS has always had problems with physicality. This is why things slow down for them in the playoffs. 20 years ago the physicality was off the charts. The Warriors movement would be more impeded. Who knows how that would affect things.

Swept 55-win Kings team that almost beat them in 2002. Swept 58-win Spurs team that won three titles in the next six years. Two top 10 players in their prime. As great as Shaq and Kobe were, they took it up a level in the playoffs. 2001 Shaq regular season: 28.7/12.7. 2001 Shaq playoffs: 30.4/15.4. 2001 Kobe regular season: 28.5/5.9/5.0. 2001 Kobe playoffs: 29.4/7.3/6.1. Throw in perfect role players like Horry, Derek Fisher, Rick Fox, Brian Shaw, Ty Lue, Ron Harper, and Horace Grant. Best coach ever. Only the 1996 Bulls would have a chance against the 2001 Lakers.

Mr. Arnett, first I want to affirm your greatness at how you have honored the past and present with respect and objectivity when it comes to your video presentations. I have two questions. In your Goat team series.....are you ranking by your placement of each team? Basically saying that you consider the 85-86 Celtics as the greatest team ever......Now I noticed one of the greatest teams you ranked were the 00-01 Lakers coached by the man you consider the greatest coach in NBA history....the 11 ringed Mr. Phil Jackson. But I must admit I am STUNNED that the other gentleman with 11 rings was not seemingly honored for one of his accomplishments for at least one year. Since 1900 to 2020 a period of 120 years in the 4 major North American team sports category MLB baseball, NFL, NHL, and the baby of the group(when it comes to age) NBA no team achieved the legendary Feat of winning 8 championships in a row led by the incomparable Mr. William Felton Russell. Not one of his team's ( whether the 63-64 team the greatest defensive team of them all or the 1961-62 team that was the first team to win 60 games in NBA history with 8 Hall of Famers on one team! A team that averaged 121.1 pts a game outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 pts a game! Also the STUNNING exclusion of the 1966-67 76ers.......Arguably Mr. Chamberlain's greatest year as a player. This is the team that ENDED THE GREATEST DYNASTIC RUN IN North American team sports history, the 8 championships in a row, Boston Celtics. That team won 68 games (most in NBA history at the time), averaged 125.2 POINTS a game! (Without the 3 point shot for both teams... Meditate on that for a day) outscored their opponents by 9.4 POINTS a game. Amazingly in spite of the 8 championship in a row dynasty Celtics this team was lauded at the end of that year possibly the greatest team in NBA history! But the team was sick! Wilt's stat line was Beyond Sick for that year 24.1 Ppg, 24.2 rbg, 7.8 aspg. SHOOTING .683 FROM THE FIELD! Only God knows how many blocks and steals! He had two other Hall of famers starting with him Legendary Hal Greer and one the greatest one on one scorers in NBA history Chet the Jet walker.... One of the most feared and former all star players starting alongside him at PF, the scary Luke Jackson. An ex tremely underrated PG in Wali Jones (perfect PG for this team...... Think how perfect Mo cheeks was for that 82-83 76ers team and you can understand the value of Brother Jones. The brilliant, former 6 time all-star Larry Costello to come off the bench as a PG with the HF Kangaroo Kid coming off the bench with him All of them led by who I believe is the most underrated coach in NBA history, the great Alex Hannum.....I believe he is the leading reason why Mr. Russell was not 13 for 13 for his Career. Coach Hannum only coach to Defeat a Russell Led team in the playoffs (think about that for a day!) Long way to get to my SECOND QUESTION.......Mr. Arnett, how could you leave off either one of these three teams in your GOAT team series? I look forward to your answer. I am that same Brandon Martin from the LeBron 17th year, 35 year old brilliantly put together video. Thank you.

On this team in the 2000s. Remember then it was the slowest pace era in NBA history, and if you have handcheking defenses on you, and people with feet under yours on 3s, you’ll miss a Lot. Only Kobe and some few others were not scared of that. But because they were mad crazy :D and if you miss more 3s for the defenses, but you can’t shoot much for the slowest pace. AND can’t take rebounds, cause there is Shaq so come on, man you loose badly. And not only vs the Lakers. Vs the Spurs too. Duncan, Parker, JAckson, Robinson and Bowen. The 2017 Warriors would never have passed the Western conference finals vs the Spurs with their dirty defenses on 3s and hard defense the basket. Duncan was a 4 blocks a game in 2003. Shaq similar, and more bully before that. And none could stop Kobe, someone who could actually take hits from people. Then if the Lakers played those Warriors in 2017 with that rules maybe we could talk about another game. But back then, I think there is a huge chances those guys might not even pass the western conference finals. If they even get there. They’re too weak and lacking of big men
