I really enjoyed this. I felt like I was sitting around a table with a couple of girls who were telling me what it was like for them to live in these two cities. You two work so well together!

Welcome to Italy! Italy Is beautiful but very expensive, the means of transports are often late and pay attention to pickpockets as in ur country they cannot be punished, visit also small natural places like the ones in romagna region as they cost less they have amazing natural areas like Cattolica Riccione Gabicce Mare Gradara they cost less and nearly no delinquents,I m an Italian from the North who has travelled a bit in these beautiful places near BOLOGNA BEST WISHES😊

I suspect the quality of life in Bologna is much higher than in Rome, but the latter is way bigger, so no wonder... Greater Rome 5 milions roughly greater Bologna 1 million approx I think if you wanna live really confortablly in Rome you gotta earn more than 2k euro per month, at least

I doubt Bologna has more students! Rome has 3 big public universities (La Sapienza being prolly the largest in Europe) plus a lot of private unis

Maybe there's just more people in Rome so it doesn't seem like there's as many students.. they blend in more haha

Yes and Rome Is huge, I think After London and Moscow Is the largest metro area in Europe with approx.1300 sq kms the comune, and the città metropolitana as big as Liguria LOL

It's interesting about your experience of people not speaking Italian back to you. I also live in Rome, and I barely speak Italian (literally just some words) and they always speak Italian back to me! And I would even say that they speak it too much, and never switch to English.
