Penguins be like: we are human with feathers. We live in relationship and also adopt children.

“No emotional connections” toward humans….. tells me that whoever made this video doesn’t have much experience with birds/wild birds. They are not only capable of interspecies connections, but have a propensity for them. Birds thrive when emotionally and recreationally fulfilled.

From what I've seen, I'm starting to think penguins are recognizing that "human = safety". There is so much footage of penguins running straight at the camera or another person, and then when they get up close, they just sort of stop and look around. Kind of like how animals in the African savanna stay close to giraffes because they know they'll spot the approaching predators and start running before anyone else.

Even if penguins have a dark side, I still like them in general!

Yep. Depending on the species, some will only mate for a single breeding season. Across all species of penguin, it's thought that only 60-90% of pairs mate over successive seasons. For Emperors, that drops to about 15%.

I think penguins are quite cute.

If in captivity they do show some bonds to the caretakers, but in the wild most likely are just curious. Also these waterfowl are a lot like humans in both good and bad aspects.
