When it comes to big cats, mountain lions do not play around. You should never approach a wild animal like a mountain lion, if you are able to spot one, admire it from a distance but keep away.
Mountain lions do not usually attack humans, but when they feel threatened they will defend their territory!

i saw one chasing something adjacent to me while hiking near a golf course in AZ. I've seen another one sleeping in a cave at lone mountain in Las Vegas.

Yes twice, and it is truely an honor. I live in California and mountain lions kill deer within a hundred yards of my house on a regular basis. I've gone up to their kills to view how they eat over a period of a few days, and it is fascinating. They are very neat eaters. They first lick all the fur off the part of the animal they will consume. Their first portion is roughly 1/4 to 1/3 of a full grown deer and they use almost surgical precision. If they plan to come back they will cover the carcass with leaves and twigs and sometimes drag it away a bit. They do guard their meal, as nothing messes with it until they are done with it, which is usually around the 3rd or 4th day. Humans are not a prey item to a healthy mountain lion. If we were, there would be a lot less of us walking around. 💕

These things are so jacked and terrifying. It’s not easy to resist that instinct to run if you saw one of these in the wild

@@leifmanson7599 Euroasian bobcat in reality is the euroasian lynx which is bigger, wilder and mean than any american bobcat (lynx rufus) - eurasian lynx would try to hide (very silent wild cat , ambush is their way to hunt) when humans are close but they can attack when meet humans ; mountain lions are generally bigger in size than lynxs but are not sharing the same country /territory...Lynx is more agile than mountain lion

I saw a mountain lion once, in Colorado. I was up on a huge boulder, and I wasn’t at all afraid. I had friends with me, and the cat actually appeared to be sick. It was skinny, and its fur was falling out. Even so, I felt fortunate for the encounter.
