For whatever reason I have not been getting any notices from BubeTube about new content! Dammit! As for stories about Rob? Keep ‘em coming! I just sold my Sportster to another brother and bought a used HD Ultra Classic and am hoping to save up enough to put a sidecar on it as I am handicapable and it will make riding easier as well as allowing me to safely take my grandchildren on rides! By the way, your new black saddle looks like a leg less Pill Bug, aka a Rollie Pollie. At least here in America we call them that. Keep Rob alive with your memories, my friend. SS

Hi brown seat is definitely better gives in my eyes the look of years gone by and at the times triumph were I think a great bike in 1977 1978 I had Norton commando 850 in 1977 then got a triumph bonneville 750 and I preferred the bonnie to ride anyway beautiful I’ve had loads of bikes in between but I’m back on triumph with my 2023 rocket gt chrome edition and I bloody love it and now looking to buy a T120 bonnie also to go in the stable great bikes I’m so happy with my purchase take care ride safe

Hey, don’t ever stop with the Rob Stories. I do favor the brown seat, the look really sets the bike apart and ALL black can be a bit boring though you did a marvelous job of dyeing it!

Leatherworker here. I would advise not giving the seat another coat as it will darken it and honestly it looks great as is. Put some protection on it and leave well alone. Just my view.

@2wheeledwillie395 Personally I would use duckswax. It'll seal the dye and add a bit of waterproofing to the seat without making it slippy. (Put it on sparingly and do a couple of coats letting it dry in between and then a buff with a microfiber cloth. Try to avoid acrylic sealers as they will make the seat slippy and may crack over time. The seat looks absolutely stonking, a really classy look

Great Rob story! 🤣 I think you're on the right track about why they offered you more, since you were looking at the State Line. I think I know that bike, it has that pro street custom chopper look, if I'm right. Yeah. I like the brown seat but I'm a fan of brown seat and saddlebags because it reminds me of outfitting a horse, like the Pony Express. I mean isn't that why they call us Riders instead of drivers?

The brown seat's OK. it's the black bike that isn't. 😁 Maybe it's because I'm old enough to remember when my dad was buying a car in the early'50s. They were all black - boring dull black! As were the bikes of that era. Now you can have bikes in vibrant colours. If you don't want vibrant, how about 'interesting'? Black will never be interesting. So what have I got? A 2023 Speedmaster in RED and chrome! And a bit of black. The only black bike I ever had was a Blackbird, probably the only bike that should always be black. Oh, 'ang on. I also had a 1979 Meriden Bonneville T140D that was black. But I am trying to forget that vibrating oil-leaking horror. 😮 And in 2021 I bought my 3rd MX5. A new ND2 in Soul Red Chrystal Metallic. Everyone should own a RED sports car at least once in their lifetime.

We'll have agree to disagree on the subject of black bikes!! I think it looks stunning! As for red sports cars I've recently sold my red BMW Z4 2.5 convertible so I'm with you on that!

If your sticking to the brown seat why not do the panniers again in the same brown or haven't you got enough dye. How many times would that make you've done the panniers now ?

The PX price is dependant on the price of the bike you are purchasing. It all depends on the profit the dealer is making on the bike you are buying. For instance, I was offered an amazing sum on my 600 bandit against a new 1200 bandit but as soon as he knew I wanted to pay cash he wouldn't do the deal. He said it was because of the commission he would make for signing me up to a finance deal.
