I was wondering the same thing scrolling through this comment section. People saying "men should be composed and not show emotion", does that include fits of rage aimed at a spouse or children that may harm them emotionally or physically? You shouldn't control your actions with your emotions but rather the other way around, the emotion comes first so it needs to be processed through an action. If you're angry, do something about it that is helpful to both yourself and others, don't use that emotion to take action on another, even if it is only verbal.

@@marvin2678 not in that case my dad is very distant he has never told me he loved me never hugged me never really actually been emotionally there for me. hes very intimidating and we have never had a relationship i have always relied on my mom for everything so i dont really appreciate him hes just a guy who lives with us and is there in our day to day life.

Except for the cheating one all takes were super reasonable, actually. I thought I would disagree with the "alphas" more, but the asian beta and the red hat guy only brought "eXcUsE mE, iT's 2023" and "tHaTs JuSt YoUr OpInIon" to the table. I think where the "alphas" go wrong is by assuming that their way of thinking is the "natural order" or something like that. To prefer a submissive woman is one thing but to think submissive women are happier is just silly. @@brianna4657 Yeah in my view while someone could want multiple partners, more often than not polygamy's biggest issue is both sides potentially not wanting it the same amount. So one side compromises for the other and that compromise builds up misery over the years. Even if both agree logically, unexpected jealousy and changing opinions of it can mess up the arrangement as well. Just a lot harder to get both sides on the same page and have enough communication for something like that to work.

Masculinity-the idea of it and what it is and has been in practice, for me but so many men I think, is one of biggest internal battles of our lives. Trying to define it for ourselves but also separate it from the past trauma that we’ve seen in countless generations is something that is profound in its implications but rarely really talked about and analyzed.

In a group setting, are you outgoing? Taking lead? Alpha. Are you quiet and waiting for others to make plans for you? Beta. Nothing wrong with either, both are intrinsic parts to a pack.
I would have so much rather seen my dad cry in front of me than the terrifying bursts of rage that left us all walking on eggshells for days whenever he was around. It would have humanized him to me so much to see him show an emotion that wasn’t anger when he was upset. For years I was terrified of going to him when I messed up because I was scared of how he would react.

They just only exhibit their emotions through “manly” ones like anger, greed, and lust, or through other outlets like addictions, alcoholism, etc. Truly secure men should understand that crying is a healthy outlet sometimes instead of punching walls or drinking away their feelings.

It's possible, but there's no way of knowing. Besides as far as I understand, the biological 'male hierarchy' is more of a spectrum, so 'alpha', 'beta' 'sigma' and 'gamma' e.t.c are unhelpful terms when speaking scientifically.

I think when I see my male friends cry over relationships, death, homelessness, I feel more connected to them than if they were holding that in. The few times I saw my father cry I felt more connected to him through that grief. Heroes are important but being human is even more important.

I feel like I’m watching the movie inside out but it’s in my own head 🤯
Weird how Mr Locario, who perceives himself as a strong alpha male, felt to me like the "weakest" and most insecure one, especially with his body language. I feel like he's trying to hypercompensate a lack of self esteem, which I hope he will one day be able to find within himself (and not only through relationships with submissive women). On the other hand, the quiet thinker Anthony showed us a lot of strength, power and self confidence, without the need of all that dominating BS. My absolute favorite. I also really loved Kevin, who put himself in the "alpha" male group (hate that wording) but was really emotionally intelligent.

a misconception about the so-called "alpha" group is that they lack emotional intelligence, I don't think that the word alpha was very appropriate in the making of this video title because the meaning of "alpha" has so many different contrasts I have no idea what it's supposed to mean. These men didn't act like the "toxic masculinity" stubborn and ignorant alphas you typically hear about online and I think Kevin fits just fine with those other dudes, whatever their title is.
