I'm most exited about how cinema 50 is going to power up my new monitor audio bronze 200/C150/FX/W10 5.1 HCP and looking forward to gradually upgrade to 7.2.4 setup. all in a 11.5x12.5x8.5 room dedicated to movies and music nights. 😃

Marantz is good for music reproduction because it has that warm sound and makes it nice to listen to. For movies though Marantz is less than ideal. It's extra warmth and bassy response influences the external speakers, which themselves have their own signature. So its like having one signature piggy backing on another signature and then it gets messy for watching movies. The film sound engineers work hard to give you their intent, so when you add your own sounds into the mix, it fails to deliver the original audio as intended. Denon has a neutral signature so does not add its own flavour. Also the Denon has more dialogue and tweaking options to allow difficult dialogue to be lifted in increments. The neutral sound also allows the external speakers to work uninterrupted without added influence from the receiver. The new Sony receivers with their 360 spatial Audio is probably a much better option for both movies and music. It has a signature, but its more natural and dynamic with quickness that i find the marantz cant match. So ideally if you have the money, the Sony avrs would be the first option, then the Denons mostly for movies, and then the marantz if you want to listen mostly to music.

Picked up a Cinema 70s recently, haven't even had time to install the system yet. But having the full 7 channel pre-outs on a compact unit is very cool - should I need more juice than the 50 watts per channel it claims, I can just add a power amp. And it looks stellar.

Hi Kimmo, thanks for watching the video and for your comment! I think the Cinema 70 is a stand out model in the line up. It offers really good specs and functionality all within a very manageable footprint that I think will appeal to a lot of people. And as you mentioned it looks great too! Did you go for the black or the silver colour variant?

Hi nice video on the product I'm Interested in, I would like to know if this cinema 70s is compatible with my speaker, the speaker that I have is Polk Blackstone TL350, is the wattage of the AVR compatible with the speaker? Should I worry about burn out of the AVR itself. Cheers.

Hello, thanks for your comment and kind words about the video. We do not sell the speakers you are asking about so I can only advise from what I have been able to find out about them online. The Polk Blackstone TL350 are rated to handle up to 125 Watts of power at 8Ohms and so should be suitable for use with the Cinema 70s. As always, you need to be careful with listening volumes and dynamics - avoid big peaks and troughs in the audio where you can. Even the best speakers can be blown by an entry level amplifier. But from what I can see, they should be suitable. You should always contact the retailer you purchased them from to ensure compatibility to be on the safe side! I hope that helps.
