To answer your question, I like watching all kinds of games. Most people would think there is something wrong with me as I even enjoy watching a dwarf mirror.

Great match with a tough team (that I own in tabletop :), very nice to see the draw from a difficult position. Looking forward to following this run

Glad you enjoyed it! I have the team too from the box and weirdly have enjoyed them for the (relatively few) games I've played on tabletop even though they definitely aren't a top tier team.

don't question yourself, bodyguards are amazing value, they are 20k cheaper than a human lino with the same stats and have str access. The str access is the deal maker as it gives you guard on the blockers while your blitzers go killing, unlike the human team where their blitzers have to take both roles.

The bodyguards are definitely my favourite pieces on the team. Amazing with just guard and if you can get dodge as well they can be so annoying to get around

I think Nobility are decent. But armor can be a crucial part in a Team's success - Imperial Nobility Lineman are Armor 8. This is Skaven level of armor, and is considered very bad. Rats get punched once and they are lucky to still be in the game after that. It's kind of shocking how Imperial Nobility is literally just a worse human team. Human Teams come with a lot of skills, 4 Blitzers, the same Ogre, AND have higher armor. That's not to say Nobility is not unique, and can be very strong if they survive long enough to get skills going. Those Bodyguards can make some very nasty plays and be a real Menace! Anyway, loved the video Tree! Keep it up! ❤ Edit - Spelling Mistake

So glad you enjoyed it! And totally agree - I think they're definitely just worse than humans, but that doesn't mean they can't be interesting!

@@misspelledtree155 yeah of course, in our irl league we have a Imperial Nobility team that has been kicking ass. Two season team so far, they've got like 8 skills on their Ogre, insane! And a Blitzer with like 7 skills as well.

I've been mucking around with Imperial Nobility this season with some reasonable success. 12-6-2 win ratio around plaitnum/diamond. To me, there feels like a little sweet spot between 1200tv and 1400tv where they peak and feel really good. Outside of that, they feel pretty sub-par :P I've gone a surfing route. 2x Bodyguards with Guard, and 2x with Grab. 1x Blitzer with dodge as the ball carrier, and 1x Blitzer with Frenzy & Tackle. I've thrown SO many people off the pitch with the Stand Firm + Grab + Frenzy combo. It's so glorious to control the sidelines.

If I was to fix them, I HATE that they have 70k rerolls. I would happily drop their reroll price to 50k, and keep the rest of the team as is.

I always think Games Workshop gets muddled up between trying to be thematic and balanced with Blood Bowl. The 70k rerolls *kinda* make sense to me thematically because I always understood that to be how good the coaching is/how well players work together. It makes sense to me that the nobles would be lazy and presumptuous about training. But if you're going that way then surely the rich nobles would wear better armour than an average human? Maybe they wouldn't give it to the retainers but I would think they would want their body guards well equipped to protect them at least.

I like nobs. They're definitely expensive, and not great at offense, and not great at staying on the field, and not great at doing anything agility based, and not great at doing anything strength based, but they do at least manage to be a reasonable field control team. As long as they don't die.

  • @IKerensky

They aren't as bad, they are worse. They are seriously overpriced humans that are worst at doing what humans does for cheaper. They could have been easily fixable by lowering reroll price down to human price and giving them some actual interesting skill on their peons... And make their thrower an actual human thrower. They have the worst sin in any semi-competitive game, they provide nothing you can't get in another team for cheaper.

  • @misspelledtree155

I agree about the overpricedness and the general not greatness but I'm not sure I agree about the lack of uniqueness? I don't think there's any team that has basic players quite like the bodyguards with their stand firm and wrestle. The closest is maybe necro who maybe do a better job of that 'just get in the way' thing on defence with the golems and the wraiths and even the zombies just being harder to remove.

@@misspelledtree155 The trick is that they have 1 player classe really unique and nice (even if somewhat hard to level up), good blitzer but small in number. Their thrower is unique but BAD. For some reason their lineman are worse than basic human but not really cheaper and could have benefitted from a special rule like: ganging up (bonus on fouling) or freely avaliable (infinite journeyman avaliable to refill the team to 11) rather than fend. Rather than a thrower that exist only so show up how useless is the new skill up a standard human thrower or no thrower at all. If you want to keep serf/servant linemen then give them animosity and lower the price or change them for squires with better stats. Nobility is not Brettonians after all...

This team looks really hard to play. I have no idea what its strengths are.

  • @misspelledtree155

The biggest strength in my opinion is really just how good it can be at 'getting in the way'. Stand firm, fend and eventually sidestep on the blitzers can make it really hard for opponents to advance and claim the spaces on the pitch they want. But that only really works if they don't all die, which with average strength and average to low armour they often do 😅

This game seems to cheat. The good dice are terribly 1 sided at times. Are the dice ever that bad in tabletop games? I've only ever played Blood Bowl in the video games.

  • @misspelledtree155

    @misspelledtree155

    Ай бұрын

I totally understand how the game can make you feel this way and honestly with how many bugs have got into BB3 at different times since launch I feel like I can't say there's 'no way' the RNG for the dice is not bugged as well. But I will say that if you play enough tabletop you will see dice situations just as crazy. I've had opponents throw triple skull, reroll, triple skull against me before now. And in my last few tabletop tournaments I've thrown so many snakes, even while swapping different dice, that I've started to think there's either something wrong with my rolling technique or my soul. 😅 As much as we want to believe Blood Bowl is all about skill (and good players do win more over time) the reality of every individual game is that luck can play a big part.
