Pro tip: Keep the type of switch you’re using up for the entirety of the typing tests. Makes it much more useful when going back to reference the video.

The Kiwis' sound improves vastly with some film. Strangely, mine don't sound like yours but sound depends on so many things (keycaps, case, plate, etc).

Gateron cj’s are smoother stock than a lubed tangie and sound is preference but to me they have a nicer deeper sound to them. Tangies are a good switch but cj’s improve on them in a lot of ways

I like the dragon fruits a lot. Films plus lightly lubing the spring and sides of the stem eliminated the wobble and gives a great sound. My daily driver is 67g tangies filmed and lubed with 205g0 and they sound and feel like heaven.

Lelelab y2k are manufactured by same company and are a sort of lemon neon version if we're going with the fruit theme. They are interesting in that if your a fan of gold and yellow they in fact seem to enrich many of the colors on the rgb of every board I've tried them in. You won't really have certain colors but you'll also have pretty colors unobtainable without them. 70gf tactile I think but supposedly a plus minus of 20gf. Not sure if it's accurate , I got many thinking I would need to try each one and categorize them but they consistently feel like snappy genuine 70g switches, Ive got zealous, Durock et al tactile s to validate the weighting against.

Interesting that you said that lubed Gateron Yellows were as good as the Tangerines. That's what I'm using right now and I like them, but the common opinion is that they are entry level switches. Guess that I should lube and film them before looking at other switches...

I got tangerine and dragon fruit, is the kiwi different enough from from the dragon fruit. Also the lelelab y2k May as well be in the same group as these three switches because it's the same Manufaxturer and all the same type of features heavier tho. Y2k too housing on dragonfruit looks pretty wild. What your saying about the rgb interference isn't exactly the whole story does it interfere, yes of course they all do. Is this bad? This is subjective. With dragon fruit and y2k switches it adds a very interesting color alteration to a lot of colors esp when it's a color close to the switch housing color. The tangerine didn't see to color my rgb.

Romsicle I have a question to ask you. Recently my typing was a bit rusty because I have 81 wpm at around 93% accuracy. Is there any way I can improve my typing up to at least 120 wpm? Is there anything I need to improve myself or, is it my switches cause I'm using the Steelseries apex 7 Red Linear Switches? Btw, great content man, just watching this video made me subscribe and like the video :).

  • @Romsicle

That's pretty good! My tip is to just keeping practicing accuracy first! So try to go for 100% accuracy when typing. Once your fingers and brain are able to get accuracy down, you can start slowly increasing your speed to get to 120. I think it took me around 6 months from your speed to 120WPM. Happy typing!
