I am almost 60 and this phenomena is not new, it has become overwhelming and is occurring far too often. Brands in general whether they were higher end or affordable would come out with seasonal launches, now it is a constant revolving door. Occasionally, they would come out with a new formula/add to their current line for staple products such as eyebrow pencils or lip gloss. They discontinue products or change the formulas of products, especially long term products and replace them with the new that are often a fad and not nearly as well done. Certainly, this is not all products but they all need to re-evaluate their marketing, the products are repetitive.

I totally agree with you. I’m turning 50 in a matter of days. (Yikes) I feel the beauty community has become so repetitive and boring. 🥱 To be honest at this point I’m going backwards. It’s ALLLLLL ABT THE SKINCARE. Idc so much abt the makeup anymore. I might add a few drops 💧 here and there (mainly concealer🤪) but it’s summer and I prefer my tan!!! With some gloss and mascara of course!!! 😂 (I’m Native American, I tan, I don’t burn) Speaking of being Native, a lot of the brands don’t cater to me now that I’m tan. Their shade ranges are just too light for me. I don’t have the time or the patience to look 👀 for brands that are inclusive!!! So until Fall, this girl is pretty much on the sidelines!!!! And loving it!!!! PS I usually get my beauty news from Allure.com newsletters sent to my email on a daily basis!!! They’re great. They actually send a lot of info, like magazine articles and stuff to me all the time!!!

I tend to stay away from trends. I pretty much do whatever I’m feeling that day. Some days it’s full glam, some days it’s more of a natural thing. Some of these trends make people look awful.

Eyeshadow will always survive. I look around when I am out and people are still wearing it. When I was 25 I didn't need Eyeshadow! Or really makeup at all. The cream, in my opinion is because it goes bad more quickly. Clean goes bad even more quickly. I do try new things but only if it speaks to me. I love makeup. Love your look. I'm cracking up at myself. When I saw the Rhodes phone case, they said it sold out super fast. I looked at the picture, and I thought it was a phone case the a picture of her lip gloss! I did not see it holding an actual lip gloss. 😂😅 That's my 57 year old brain! 😂😅❤

I don't follow trendmood. I watch my favorite creators & mostly indie brands anymore. I'll buy a ND or ABH palette if it calls to me, but it has to be on sale. Because I can't justify the prices without stunning multichromes or really special shadows. But my indie collection makes me feel beautiful whether I'm very colorful or simple. My makeup trend is whatever makes me feel my most beautiful & has my hubby tell me how good I look. I'm here for all your videos bc im here for your personality darlin. Have a wonderful weekend!

Well I love eyeshadow so I guess I’m old 😂 and I will always part my hair to the side. I get my beauty news from instagram and you tube. I think that brands know everyone wants these viral products. I also believe that people purchase these “viral” products because apparently new makeup gets views. These are the things I see it people have told me. Idk what’s going on. Love the video btw.

I do get most of my beauty news from KZread and Instagram. I'm not even following trends anymore. I'm more of a do what works for your face kind of person. I'm part natural girl part glam. I don't want heavy foundation but I do want blush and eyeshadow. But I do enjoy the dupes to an extent. I can't afford the tarte lip oils but I could afford one from flower beauty.

I can remember getting my makeup news from Seventeen magazine back in the 70s and continued to follow trends in magazines when I was young (pre-internet... I just turned 62!). Now 90% of my makeup news comes from you and a handful of other KZreadrs, though they mostly focus on fashion. I'm also influenced by the commercials between videos and on Instagram... Tried the Jones Road Miracle Balm... Meh. I am going for the less is more look due to my light eyes, hair, and fair skin. I can remember making some whopper makeup blunders especially in the 80s... Too harsh colors, etc.

I don't think eyeshadow is over, I think the way it is used is changing. I see a lot of younger people wearing eyeshadow in more creative ways - hot pinks, graphic liners, bright green only above the crease. Look at Chappell Roan. She's wearing makeup in a BIG way! The crowd that is now pushing 30 is still doing natural makeup (Haley Bieber, etc), but the younger generation is pushing the envelope. I think whatever your style, you can make it fresh! No need to fit into any certain trend, just do what you like! If you're a creative person, that will evolve over time, naturally, but there will always be makeup that tends to look natural and effortless, just as there will always be makeup that is edgy and artsy!

Apparently, I live under a rock bc i just heard a few days ago from only one person about eyeshadows are going out. Pfft.. Not for me. Like someone else already commented, I don't really do the trends, I just do whatever I'm feeling that day. I am into the blush atm I really love your look today, I've got to get my hands on that palette. I was hoping you would swatch the highlighters. I get all my makeup information directly from my favorite KZreadr and of course was Sephora and Utah. The only thing I get tired of a lot of my favorite KZreadr get the same PR and trying to figure out which one to watch and which code touse. be safe everyone and I love the conversation that you’re starting is definitely an eye-opener❤❤

When I want to play I've just been using what I have or honestly I have gotten some very good dupes off of Temu that in my opinion are better that the name brands. Why would you go buy something viral you already have and then never use it. The stuff isn't cheap anymore... USE it up first like foundations or any cream products. After 6 months it starts to have that grandma makeup smell of OLD. Loads of Love!

Hi Nicole, I'm beyond tired of all new makeup coming out. It's so much makes it overwhelming. I don't pay attention to that much of new makeup. I watch KZread. I don't have tik tok I learn what I want in a few months.. my favorite is eyeshadow. So that is what I look for mostly
