Are Arranged Marriages Worth it?! (True Story)

Ойын-сауық

This week I talk with Kanushree, an India-American who has been arranged to be married at twenty-four years old. We talk about whether arranged marriages are worth it? How is it dating nowadays? And which is better: to have someone chosen for you or to be on dating apps in an endless search for love?

Each week I will interview guests from all around the world on the topics of culture, connection and of course, dating. The goal is to go as deep as possible and to really understand where we all come from and how much culture influences our life.

Some people do get paired well? Some people are not going to be so lucky. I'm reminded of sadhguru; he spins a story about his late wife.

Born americans of hindu heritage always want to say that their American, when their raised foreign to this culture . This creates an innate lie . If you can only date and marry in your own families culture , then they are not truly American. I see this in nyc where I was raised , long island and in D.C . This is the same for other cultures who are trying to overdue it and over compensate . They do not know themselves .

Maybe they just refer to their citizenship when they say "American"?

@@stormmaster108 I met a few and they really mean American. One women I met in a D.C tennis shop was from west virginia and of hindu descent . This women was married to a hindu guy from NY she only considered herself West virginian and put her accent out when it benefited her . Her choices and culture from both of their family's make them live between two worlds . You either have american and regional values or you don't .

3:47 What a nonsense! I was born and raised in Moscow (Russia) - I have hated it almost my entire life. I was so disgusted with it that this carried over to my perception of cities in general. I wanted to stay away from any towns. It took years after leaving Moscow before I started to consider that living in a city can be pleasant. I still wouldn't choose a very large city, but something like Östersund or Örebro feels appealing. ❤

Can I have both please ? attraction and finances / Stability AND adventure at the time ? and preferably with someone who has spent enough time with me before to be my partener before marriage ? lol Thanks for this video, it was very interesting and helped me in a way. It helped me to choose. I want both please, thank you ☺😂 Also my father passed away and my mother doesn't want to talk to me anymore so i guess I have the luxury to choose by myself then.

Finances don't fall from the sky. It takes a lot of work and saving so forget the adventure and gym boys. No time for that.
