For the low bike , you can upgrade just the brake levers to any shimano servo wave lever. My bike came with mt200 and switching the levers made all the difference . I didn’t even need to take the cable and calipers off. Just simple lever swap and top lever bleed .

It works but the only benefit it is giving you is to get a more agressive bite point. It might feel like you are increasing power but it isn't the case, only different brake feel. Power is dictated by lever/caliper pistons ratio and all the levers produced by shimano have a 10mm lever piston, servowave or not.

@@kevinhodgins9071 Not the original commenter, but there are a lot options you can go with (if you can find them in stock). Deore BL-6100 is i-specEV compatible and the cheapest from prices I've seen so far, BL-MT501 is i-specII compatible and the second cheapest. Both of these have reach adjust, but it's not toolless, if you want that you have to step up to SLX or XT brake levers, but prices for those are all over the place, so I can't really say much for those.

The handlebar is probably the most overlooked technical part you can put on your bike. The right bar, the material and how it's made, can make a tremendous difference in your ride. Those fast flexx bars have a ton of great reviews but there's more affordable options in carbon bars with flex technology in the design.

Agree with your comment about the lack of traction on the Stamp 1’s. Apparently a 10mm pin kit makes all of the difference. I didn’t buy the kit but tightened all of the stock pins on my set as far as they would go. Greatly improved. Grip is now adequate but it’s also not super difficult to adjust foot placement.

But then again, I´m more of a relaxed cross country / exploration type of rider and not a fast descender.

Another component I'd have changed would've been pedals to deity deftraps and deity tmacs, grippiest composite, and metal pedals you can get.

Could you do breakes next please 🙏 In my opinion brakes are a big point in how you can ride because if you have esteem to stop safely if you get faster is cruel for riding mtb ...wrote this comment while the vid was going to the end, seems like you have already heard my wish😂

For 100 dollars you could have bought ergon grips for 30, aluminium flat pedals for 40 and gotten a cheaper handlebar for 30

Taking off slip-on grips: Just use compressed air mate. Squirt it in the hole in the end of the grip. On the 2nd grip, just cover the hole in the bar opposite with the palm of your hand.

yo, you should really cut down the bars, unless you are like way over 6ft, 800 mm bars are too wide on a short travel trail bike

I can't live without my Fasst bars! But I ride in Utah (and often in Moab which is ridiculously chattery), so the absorption is fantastic, and you can modify the absorption with different elastomers. If you reduce the bar width on them, you may have to install softer elastomers - which they come with - due to the reduction in the moment arm of shorter bars, though. I had tried RevGrips and they weren't anywhere near as effective and I also use Ergons now. I also don't see a need to go high end on stems. Good flat pedals and shoes are a must, though.

I've seen that a lot of people have the same problem with the resin Stamp pedals. I've never felt it and I had them on my previous mtb and on my current dirt jumper. $300 is a lot for pedals, I thought I was spending a lot by getting $100 OneUp Alloy pedals

  • @Locks9907

Personally, I would have gone with some used Chester's off ebay for pedals and just pick up a replacement pin set. Extremely budget friendly off ebay at 15-30 usd, while also giving you a great gripping platform. You could honestly also pick up a quality aeffect stem/bar set too for 35 usd each. That way both bikes could receive an upgrade while spending no more than 100 dollars on arguably some of the most important parts of your bike (contact points)

A popular choice seems to be One Up Carbon bar, they offer it in 20mm and 35mm rise. so I guess the 35mm is just tall enough, for me. I currently use a 38mm bar. so only 3mm more.

@@EvansMTBSaga I think I will order one and see. I currently have a 38mm Burgtec RideHigh38mm, but but it's very harsh, I can hang off them and they barely move, so bunny hops or just smashing the front wheel feels harsh. I suspect I get some fatigue of them too, one ride I noticed my hands hurt, but that was after not riding for about 2 months, and it was much off road riding.

@@EvansMTBSaga I ordered One Up Carbon bar, yesterday. The Burgtec alloy bar is overly stiff.more suitable name would be PullUpbar, so stiff it takes my whole body weight with barely flexy, if at all.
