Great tutorial, thanks. There is one wire missing in this tutorial . else it will not work. Spent several hours debugging and figured out that you need a wire from 5V pin of L298N to 5V pin in arduino for this to work. else the arduino board itself was not getting power.

Yeah we can power the Arduino from the 5v of the motor driver
