    Hello Eduardo, As I said in the video, the mechanical construction was made by a friend, which is very skilled with metal work. I don't know more details than the ones shown there. This is the hardest part to do, and you have to be really good to get it right. Otherwise it will be a continuous struggle. I know, a commercial rotator is very expensive, but it's also very reliable. Thank you for your appreciation.

    I'm building a similar thing with prebuilt tv antenna rotators with control boxes mounted to each other for 2-axis but instead using IR libs to remotely cycle the boxes with a TLE program as they already have remote control ability and they're still pretty nice so don't feel the need to chop them up yet. First part was finding an IR lib that handles multiple transmitters of which there are quite few. Then building and physical testing of the arduino IR transmitters for reliability with their spacing from the box and angles and such. Then programming an accurate, standalone RTC controller because the cheap-o ones I got all run completely normal i.e. +6 sec per day; not horrible but bad enough for this purpose. This got kind of deep with deriving crystal hz variations with temperature cold and hot and a parabolic curve but for in the end the excessive clock speed is pretty constant and it was simply a matter of turning back 2 secs every 8 hours or so. This actually worked better than I hoped but consumed most of last year with calibration times (weeks), bugs and tweaks and other things but now that the clock is done I can maybe move onto actually bringing it together. It was meant for grabbing directional ISS SSTV in an automated fashion because I strive for exceptional quality but often have to be at work for some of the passes. Anyways I'll post something about it when it's done! I like your channel!

    @@johannpanait3491 Hi. The Arduino controller is connected to the computer for tracking. I find it very difficult to write myself a code for TLE computing. This worked worked fine for me.

    Dear Viorel: I have a idea. To introduce a magnetometer on Arduino, thus will be ease point the antenna for magnetic north. What you think about?

    Hey Eduardo. This is a good idea if you move the antenna a lot, for example you take it on the field. Everyone can modify the code to better suit his needs. My purpose was to make it simple and reliable. My installation is fixed, so for me it's not worth the effort. I only have to align the antenna to the North once.

    Hello, Of course, you can do this, but it will be more complicated. You have to make a separate radio receiver tuned to the desired frequency. This receiver will have an output connected to Arduino antenna controller.

    Hi SoxxZ This device is not independent. In order to move, it should be connected to a computer. Then a software that tracks satellites, sends the coordinates (azimuth and elevation) to it by USB.

    @@Racov i get it, but how does the software know the position ? like, where is north for example, for it to know where to point

    @@soxxz2028 For the software to track correctly, it should know your geographical position. So there is a menu where you input your latitude, longitude and altitude. When the program calculates the satellite's orbit, it knows when it will pass over you. Then it translates (mathematical-geometry formulas) all the coordinates into angles in rapport to your position, so you virtually can draw a line between you and the satellite. There's where the antenna is pointing. The antenna itself should be aligned with the North (0 degrees = North),and also leveled horizontally, to point correctly. Yeah, that was long :)

    Hello Clark. It would have been good if I had any, powerful enough. Totally possible though. These car wiper motors were the best deal at the time.

    Have left here so if people have same questions will be answers. but have also emailed you mate Hey mate ... Firstly I really appreciate your help I have connected to Orbitron and am seeing no change in the AZM cd. 000 or the ELV cd. both at 00 or 000 degrees . I have added the AZ[AZ] EL[EL] SN[SN] to ddeserial have you got any ideas why this is happening ? Also when connecting to the serial monitor if i type in any random text eg.. (#$FEQF#$) or even a (.) it send back same information as if type in AZ 312 EL 12 to help me I saw in the code the " if read AZ Azimuth = ""; " which is all correct but if I input AZ 138 as an example it only gives back potentiometers position and makes no changes to the cd. values . Appreciate help Lol be last question

    Hey Adam. Got your message. Let me do some testing and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime try the following: When sending commands via serial monitor use this pattern: AZ123 EL45 Do not put a "pause" between AZ and 123. When using Orbitron plugin, make sure you tick the boxes Custom Format String and Send To Serial

    @@Racov hey 👋 Thanks for the quick reply.. Ok the string is working in serial monitor AZ123 EL22 as an example Though I now see what my issue is when orbitron running and turn the serial on it updates the Az-El but only when I tick and un-tick “send to serial” once every second .. I have a updating issue not sure where to go BUT have moved forward once again. Hope that gives enough information..
