I ran into this booth at the iowa deer classic a few years back and I could barely ask these people questions about their product without them interrupting me and acting like I was in the wrong with a very condescending tone. The interaction went something like: “So can I adjust the mount since I can’t see the dot when I anc…” “-you don’t need to anchor!” “What if I want to?” “You don’t need to.” Even if the product was good…I won’t touch it given that the people behind it clearly don’t have a bone of customer service…

I’m sorry that you had an experience like that. I know the family who makes this product and I can tell you that they are incredible people. What you asking d for is probably one of the most common questions about ARD. Can I anchor? Can I use a peep? Yes you can and you could but you would possibly have to spend a little more time on your sight than some. I’m an old target guy, been throug shooting schools and grew up in a shop. I absolutely cannot shoot without multiple anchors. ARD manufactures multiple size sight rings for bow models based on riser thickness and spacing to center shot (approx) and if you need additional movement we also have shims to aid in getting the product set up exactly for you and how you shoot. On the flip side, if you aren’t torquing the bow, you can absolutely get away with floating the bow in spite of everything you’ve spent a lot of time learning to do. That just isn’t for me. Again, I apologize you had a bad experience with someone at the show but I can promise you these guys care and are happy to help you. If you have additional questions about anything then please reach out and they or I will do whatever I can to help you out. You will likely speak to the owner, Tim if you call. Cheers

Cool but how is the scope activated? Battery life and brightness levels??

It uses a 2032 battery. If you turn it on when you got hunting and off when you are done it will last a few years. As a back up, you can always tape an extra battery to your bow. The Ultradots have 11 different brightness settings and a Matchdot II also has different reticle options. Hope this helps! Any other questions let me know.

Why not just put a sight tape where the hash marks are to begin with....? Would be way more easy for finding yardage than having to measure out clicks on the fly.

I’ve played with this sight extensively over the last year and some with Owner. The red dot started as a fixed reference point and the hash marks on the ARD allow a shooter who needs a red dot the opportunity to still reference for additional yardage. I think you could take about any stick on scale for a straight slider and select one based on your gap and stick it on using the laser etched indicator but for most who use a red dot we are taking 20-40 yards shots more often 20 and in. I do like your idea and I’m sure Tim appreciates everyone’s thoughts. They are great people and put a lot of work into this product. The machining tolerances are quite high. On that note, machining an option like that into this piece without impacting tolerance may be a bit challenging but I will definitely pass on your thoughts. Thank you.

I'm just saying lose the hash marks and go with a sight tape... you'd probably get more people to view and actually buy the product. Is this sight for me? Absolutely not lol but if I was in the market for one I'd like to be able to use a sight tape and mark my own yardage. Everyone shoots different and it's not going to line up with the marks that are on there.

    What's the point in this?

I've been saying for years someone needs to put a red dot on a bow. But I'm not sure this is the right implementation of it. Seems clunky. Would be better with a better and larger FOV red dot. Also surprised that the red dot doesn't need to change pitch for longer shots.

You’re dead on, and they leave out that you don’t use a peep with this system due to the fact that you’ll most likely not be able to see the red dot and have your nose touching the string at the same time. Red dots have an unlimited field of view. Our mount moves on an arc so it allows you to have a consistent anchor. We make our mount in Michigan everything is made of 6061 aluminum and hard coat anodized. Any other questions let me know!! 😊

@@adjustablereddot then why are your employees interrupting people testing your product saying that you don’t need to anchor? If your scope housing is at a angle like you set it in this video, then you won’t be able to get the same sight picture at distance as your do at 20 yards. Fundamentally, you saying you can get a consistent anchor is a lie since It appears you have a fixed mount that doesn’t allow for left/right adjustment of the mount. So if your peep doesn’t line up with the housing where it is mounted, you’re then unable to use a peep (taking away an anchor point, and increasing the likelihood to torque your bow since the dot will no longer be in the center of your housing like any red dot.) Not to mention the insane price point of almost $600 for a optic that for the same parts and materials, if sold in the firearms market, would cost about $100. The technology in this sight is about a decade (if not more) behind the tech that is readily available from the firearms world. Do better

Pollinton pro red dot has been around forever. Nothing new here

Red dots aren’t new. WE shoot them on shotguns pistols and yes Pollingtons have been on bows for quite a while although no longer produced. The major difference in the ARD is that you have an adjustable option on this mount and options to mount this to multiple bows with specific rings and even shims to make it fit you. The Adjustable red dot mounts moves on an arc where the rear optic fixates around the setting for your anchor. This allows you to adjust for additional yardages while still maintaining an anchor while remaining peep-less. Could you add a peep sight and shoot through the string? You can but it’s not something I would want to do. Again, rather than a single dot fixed that forces hold overs you can do yardage specific clicks without a peep. Additionally, A fixed mount like the one you are familiar with, pic rail mounts where you can mount a red dot you prefer, and cross eye dominant mounts are available are available through ARD and they are a Michigan company made to very tight tolerances .

@RichHamby-kz4wd 0 seconds ago It’s actually quite easy. The red dot isn’t magnified and with both eyes open, target acquisition is very fast. Additionally, in low light I’ve gained considerable confidence in the dwindling and first light scenarios when I tend to catch my target deer coming from and going to bed. That low setting is money in the last 30 in a blind as well. Thank you for your interest in ARD and if you get a chance to shoot one I encourage you to make your mind up first hand. I was highly skeptical about adding gadgets or complicated things to the bow and since Tim got me set up I’ve actually enjoyed the simplicity and dependability of the red dot.

That’s what the spear chunkers say about guys laminated bows. Well of course a stykbow guy is gonna say that, come on lol… I personally love traditional archery and have donated my fair share of income to cottage bowyers. This particular product is quite useful. Autoimmune disease is wrecking my joints and unfortunately affected my eyes. I do not get the halo on a red dot that I get on pins from time to time so I’m thankful for it. It’s also quite simple to use and highly repeatable thanks to very high tolerances in machining. I have and will keep shooting it as well as my new zipper here hopefully very soon.
