Arctic Hare
Hi Everyone.
Wildlife All About lets you explore and provides Information about different types of animals. It helps you to learn more about the greatest species of animals.
Today we are going to learn more about the The arctic hare or polar rabbit. The Arctic hare
is a species of hare which is adapted largely to polar and mountainous habitats. The arctic hare survives with a thick coat of fur and usually digs holes in the ground or under snow to keep warm and sleep. Arctic hares look like rabbits but have shorter ears, are taller when standing, and, unlike rabbits, can thrive in cold climates.

I love arctic region scenes.
Love them. So cute.
Beautiful.. all rabbits are..
Alaska is home to the snowshoe hare (L. Americanus) and the aptly named Alaska hare (L. othus). The arctic hare (L. arctus) inhabits the northernmost reaches of eastern Canada, as well as Newfoundland and Greenland. An arctic hare is much more likely to make a come-from-away kiss a cod than it is to speculate on the outcome of the next Iditarod.

Can you explain the last sentence? Also thank you for stating all three types of snow bunny. When looking it up a year or two ago I only found the arctic hare, and a short statement referring to "other [arctic] lagomorphs", as well as a hundred plus dictionary definitions equating to 'ski slut', definitely not helpful.

@@castonyoung7514 A come-from-away is a visitor to Newfoundland. They have a ceremony in Newfoundland to make visitors honorary Newfoundlanders. The ceremony involves kissing a cod. So if we're anthropomorphizing hares and talking about which ones would be involved in the Iditarod, it wouldn't be the arctic hare, since the arctic hare isn't found in Alaska. But the arctic hare is found in Newfoundland.
I love arctic hares

Funny bunny
Except that Arctic Hares (Lepus arcticus) aren't found in Alaska. The only hares native to Alaska are the Alaskan Hare (Lepus othus) and the Snowshoe Hare (Lepus timidus). They're cousins, though. So whatever. (Also, Antelope Jackrabbits are just as big as Arctic Hares, as are Alaskan Hares.) Kind of a hare freak, am I.

If my ancestors can tame the ancestors of cows (which are way stronger than modern day cows) we can certainly tame these hares

My ancestors used to live with even more spectacular and infinitely stronger animal-a huge male Siberian tiger they called Neron-for his entire life was the best friend and even a hunting comrade for my grandfather who taught him to hunt for prey!That cat used to weight 385 kilograms/850 lbs at his prime!So speaking of hares..Which he by the way used to hunt and especially was happy with exactly arctic hares lol🤣So speaking about them..Untameable?!?Guys,relax,don't even need to hold my beer:I shall make it while drinking it!😎🤣🤣🤣 Yet I personally will better do like grandad and get a Siberian tiger cub to raise into a hunting comrade and life long friend!..And will have fun hunting these squeaky furballs together lol😎🐅🐯🤗👍

As someone who's lived in places that have rat problems anything that even remotely resembles rodents are repulsive to me. That's what hares look like, giant rodents with big ears and a stalkier body.
@ashleyr6809

Rabbits are classified as rodents anymore, you moron. Do your research.
@dubistverrueckt
2 жыл бұрын
@@ashleyr6809 Correct. They belong to their own Order: Lagomorpha. Even more fun fact is that Lagomorpha is the sister order of Primates - OUR order! Yes, you read right: we apes and humans are the closest relatives of hares, rabbits and pikas NOT deer, sheep, cows, rodents, camels, kangaroos, whales, rhinos, dogs, bears, cats, bats, etc.those are closer to each other than to us or hares/rabbits.
Beware of yellow snow lmao 😂... omg They’re ugly lol! Some aren’t quite as weird looking but there’s definitely some oddly shaped ones that look like some hybrid between a kangaroo and a rat and a few other things in between.
Cute
