They are by far the most aggressive bears. They only eat meat, and live on an environment that provides few eating opportunities. If they see or smell you, they will go after you.

I was thinking "heh, it sounds like he's talking about people of different skin colors" but then I realized it's not actually that funny: melanin is a very common pigment in nature. You got some, your brown, you have a lot, you're "black," and if you have very little, you might be white. It's not just a human thing, it also applies to lots of mammals, and even fungi have melanin... So really, it's kind of arrogant for us humans to think "black, brown and white" must relate to human races.

Actually that’s not what the bear is doing, it’s dragging itself on the ice like that so that it doesn’t crumble under its body weight, when they drag themselves like that they are lighter in a sense and the ice doesn’t break

It's not becoming lighter so much as it's reducing the pressure exerted by its body. weight doesn't change unless gravity changes. Pressure can change if surface area changes. by spreading out its body, the polar bear increases the surface area of its body being supported by the ice, which reduces the weight of its body being supported by any given surface area of ice... I.e. it's reducing the pressure.

Imagine walking through the Arctic, and then sudden see a Polar Bear pop it’s head out of the ice like a groundhog.

No. Polar bears are dying off bc of climate change. What kind of person enjoys going to the arctic to freeze and get close enough to a polar bear to get eaten anyway? Those poor darlings. I’m sick and tired of ppl hunting them for their beautiful white fur just to make a stupid COAT when you can go to the store and buy something that looks the exact same, works the exact same, feels the exact same, and is ten times cheaper, and not made with animal fur that required murder to be made!

It’s impossible to know, but yes, it is well known that they will *generally* view humans as prey and will stalk, kill, and eat us without a second thought.

If there's cubs then there's more interaction than just momma and babies. 😊

A small correction: polar bear fur is actually transparent, while it is their skin that is white instead!

They don’t have white fur. Their hair is actually translucent…the scattering of light makes it appear white. And they have black skin to absorb as much warmth from the sunlight as possible.

for sure, a full grown male can be 700 kg thats literally insane, there is literally nothing you can do with them lol if they get u its gg, short face bear lived in the americas, i bet if you put a full grown polar in the desert it would wreak havoc, it would survive for a v long, their endless cardio might make up for lack of ability to hide in that environment, i wouldnt bet against it killing wildebeest or zebra xD

Well, if they cant seem to find any seals out there if their icy territory is being taken away. Sometimes its their only way to survive.

One snow bear that can easily ghost you without a thought and will actually hunt you if you're unfortunate enough to be alone, so always carry a gun when in polar bear territory.
