Triggers are for volume purposes and the drummer still has to play in time and at the designated tempo. They are needed in extreme metal because the drummer is playing the double bass so fast that you the listener can hear every beat clearly. If a drummer messes up while playing with triggers the mistake is heard much more clearly than without triggers so people who say triggers are cheating have no clue on what they are talking about.

same thing as guitar with distortion, sure mistakes are not as "clear" but there is a massive difference when playing clean

Is that true that some od them can use same triggers to Play 32 only by 16 on one leg and the triggers can double the beat? Apart of making bas sound same all time. ?
