Thank you very much for these wonderful pictures. It`s nice to see the "old" Harleys, that once i love to this day. People enjoy it as much as we did, and i feel like they`re waving us from the past... Greetings from Hamburg, Germany

I like how Harley is keeping up with modern days. But in my heart, Harley will always be about that rumble of the engine. The distinct "potato-potato" sound from the 45 degree V-Twin. The feel of the wind blowing as you ride along. It's all about being free. Softails and Dynas forever.

People keep saying Harley is going to die. I don't know if that's true, I tend to think no but I know of no company like Harley. What other company's customers tattoo their logo on them? What other company's customers have developed an entire sub-culture around it? Not only in America but all over the world. Sure - sales are contracting but they sell more bikes in 1 quarter than brands we tend to think of as "strong" like Ducati, Triumph, Polaris/Victory do in the entire year - combined. I don't know if there are a lot of companies that put for the effort Harley Davidson does to catalog and preserve their history. 116 years of American history, world history. Some really outstanding footage below and not too long either. I've been fortunate to have gone through the museum about 4 or 5 times. Worth the trip for films just like this. They may make some things not everyone wants or associates with the MoCo but they haven't STOPPED making those great bikes like the Sportster, RoadKing and others.

This was just straight damn beautiful. I would implore Harley-Davidson to start releasing these digitized films to the public; they can only incite awareness and interest both in motorcycling as a sport and Harley-Davidson as a company. What is part of the past can become a gateway to the future. Please keep putting these together - as era-based series, hopefully - and you've got one dedicated viewer here.

I've ridden Harleys for over 40 years. I still have a Knucklehead, and will hopefully die of old age with it by my side. But, I'm probably just stuck in the past. My "newest" Harley is a Shovelhead. I wish the Motor Company well, and I know they have modern day challenges. Ain't nothing new, though. Harley has always found a way forward.

Harleys are not the fastest bike out there. Riding one, you just dont care about that. To understand, ya have to ride a well maintained Harley.

Looks really cool, but makes me a bit sad. I'm sure there are good dealers out there, even know a couple of decent shops, but so many are just s-shows that drive customers away I fear for the bar and shield's future.

That was just a rumor. Our corporate offices are still located in Milwaukee, WI, USA, and as it has been for the last 116 years, all of our bikes sold in America are still being built in America.

Gee, why didn't they think of that? lol their prices are on par with just about every other motorcycle in the same class. Look at the Indians, the Spyders, Goldwing's, All the same price points, so not sure why Harley needs to lower anything

The movie show a different day and time when Harley was just simply a motorcycle and a blue collar motorcycle at that. Harley's used to be fun in the old days. Now they are used to see how much money a rich old fart with more money than God can piss away on unreliable motorcycle. They took all the fun out of having a Harley. Now it's all money money money. All the old time motorcycle shops that you would go to and just sit and have a cup of coffee or a soda or a beer and just hang out with like-minded people. Don't forget you were a motorcycle nut in those days. Cars were safe motorcycles weren't so bikers had a death wish and they were called murder Cycles. You only had real Riders in those days no posers no rubbies no sidewalk Commandos. If you were Rich you drove a Lincoln Continental or a big Cadillac you certainly didn't have a Harley. Your plumber might your electrician might your Carpenter might but not you you're an executive you're a boss you don't get your fingers dirty. It was more fun when only motorcycle nuts had motorcycles and only train nuts had trains.

It’s up to us to keep it alive, the MoCo is nothing without its customers. They still offer a good product albeit expensive, but then look at the price of an F-150 these days. Buy used, anyone can buy a Harley-Davidson at some of the used prices out there. Back to the basics, teach your children, show ‘em the fun. Take the family out on two wheels! Strap a fishing rod to the bike and head to the lake! They are still easy to work on, do it yourself!

They have had an accessories catalog since the 20's or 30's. The wears come and go. Relax, the Hipsters will pass into history also. I don't mind the new tech. If you know the history of the moco, people were afraid of the overhead valve engine at first. (36' Knucklehead) There were still IOE engines and side valves running around at the time. They still made Flatheads well into the new OHV era. Harley will still make an air cooled engine into the foreseeable future, to go with the electric vehicles.
