    My favourite video yet (for obvious reasons!) Great to see this model develop in the workshop....having a sneaky peep when I could. Impressive seeing all your skills coming together and seeing your work on display at the Exhibition. Keep up the momentum, work ethic and quality for the next academic year, really looking forward to what you can achieve. Enjoy your well earned break. Ps Laser cut the location holes for the tree trunk/dowels to save time drilling!! #andkeepsmiling ☺

    do I need to work in the "model" tab or I need to work in the "layout " tab to get the accurate scale for laser cutting ? How the scale conversion is being made in AutoCAD for laser cutting purpose ?

    So interesting , I wanted to do it for graduation Project but I ended up doing the maquette manually . For laser cutting here in Egypt they usually use CorelDraw which make it so exhausting for big projects like the one I did to export and import and follow the lines in coreldraw , but at last alhamdulillah I managed to do the model manually . Thank you really for great effort Rasha . PS. It's hot and so humid here in Egypt

  • @SurvivingArchitecture

    @SurvivingArchitecture

    Oh wow. I haven't used CorelDraw before but I heard it's very annoying. After the AutoCAD file is ready we also export to CorelDraw which is then used to connect to the laser cutter. You should be able to import to CorelDraw without having to go over everything , Alhamdulillah you managed though and you got it done in the end :) Thank you Karim. Same here in UK -_-

    Tip on saving money never buy the commercial plastic trees and furniture... For the furniture your approach was spot on as for the trees try to use cardboard or recycled wood (any recycled material frankly especially if it has creases and waves and particularities) take the silhouette of the tree you desire trace it on illustrator or Autocad copy the trace change it a bit cut on one tree an incision half the size of the tree at the top (preferably the shorter one) and on the other the same incision at the bottom and slide them together and voila you can also glue the trees in place If you have several trees of the same type diversify them a bit make some larger some fluffier it is a very expressive method. Tip if terrain inclusion is part of the concept make sure that trees land and exterior walls are the same material in the conceptual model and if it is a working model make the interior as white as possible (considering the exterior is of a different color)

    Yeah I would never buy the furniture and trees. I've tried that approach for trees for a different model and i wanted to do something different and we don't pay as students for modelling supplies at uni heheh xD hmmm didn't think of that. Thank you for the tips

  • @SurvivingArchitecture

    @SurvivingArchitecture

    I use Cad to draw out my drawings and then export them to CorelDRAW. It depends really on your laser cutting machine and what compatible software.
