Lyrics
From the cradle to the grave
Destined to break like the waves
Existence is so threatening
It takes a fierce grace to crack us open
A moment sat with our sentencing
And the light comes flooding in
Oh, the light comes flooding in
When the leaves fall in the spring
May all the beggars be blessed
Like angels with anhedonia
We’re all just doing our best
Repeating ‘there’s nothing left’
That’s why we weed out the wonderers
Maybe there’s virtue in emptiness
But I still drown in distress
When the leaves fall in the spring
With the ravens here to stay
And the doves all flying away
Sedation feels so welcoming
In the subtle space there’s an endless ocean
But the devils sing and it’s deafening
What a world we’re living in
Oh, we’re never listening
When the leaves fall in the spring
I’ve got a lot to lose
But I won’t lie to you
And make believe sincerity
I’m praying for a remedy
Beloved distant blue
One day I’ll die for you
And swim in sweet serenity
‘Cause death is not my enemy

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Existence is so threatening... 10 years ago when my grandma died and and I was blamed to not cry, my mom told me "we weeping for ourselves, not for the deceased. They are free now, but our life is what gets harder without them". Last year she was taken by the cancer, and I feel the threat of the existence now.

How can we make "Dying is absolutely safe" even more emotional? I'm in love with this song

This song is so incredibly profound. It’s so empathetic, honest.. where it starts as distressing and worrisome to end feeling calming and serene. Such a powerful song. And this is why Architects stand a cut above the rest.

@お前の心の中のぺけたん No, I would say it's orchestra or opera. But as it is written by a metalcore band it sort of is? This entire album has been an alternative twist on metalcore that I worked excellenty
More orchestral versions, more!!!
This became one of my favorite architects closing tracks right when i first listened to the album. Sam's vocal is so intimate, soft, and fragile. Especially on the "I've got a lot to lose" part with just the piano. And when the line that really hit me in the feels "cause death is not my enemy" and all the instruments come back on and the choir joined... Man.. Such a powerful moment. And such a powerful and emotional song
This band is legendary at worst, no words could describe how much I love them
The best song of the album
Holy shit this version is literally all I could have ever asked for
When musicians collaborate and create something so beautiful as this? Music has come a long way. Maybe some of the best medicines out there
Imagine All of Our Gods Have Abandoned Us album show with a Symphony orchestra live. God damn.
Once i came to Architects for the music, but then i stayed for the lyrics.
This is how dream come true architects and noir choir sing together

@@MyEpicAnime did you hear what he did without computers on self titled? so much shit going on. that scream on Eyeless (motherfucker part) - you can ever hear, how the mic can't absorb his whole range. + no studio cuts, lot of long takes without any break. Iowa screams also also probably the most muscular i can think of. no cuts, just pure, assaulting vocals with their own body. his neck is absurd. But i think Cory Brandan has the most insane range i ever heard. All Hail vocals and Redeemer vocals are also so fucking insane.

talk about an incredible band who seems to be very "Spiritually awoken" the lyrics absolutely speak to the spirit

The lyrics are beautiful but every time I listen to this song I get the idea of accepting the fragility of being a human and a slight hope about a future that may never come.

To me it's a more lyrical way of saying that "those afraid to die will never truly live", but slightly turned on its head: live! for you will surely die one day...so you might as well just fully live now whilst you're alive, although existance might seem threatening...
I found you guys by accident or maybe it was not an accident......I had a tough time in the middle east and this song soothes the chaos in my head..thank you
