In this video, we take you on a walk through Arches National Park, a captivating wonderland of red rock formations in Utah. This specific adventure leads us to the iconic Tower Arch, a colossal sandstone feature spanning an impressive 92 feet. Tower Arch is tucked away behind the Klondike Bluffs, making it one of the most remote arches in the park.
The Tower Arch Trail offers a moderately challenging hike, with a total distance of 3.4 miles (out-and-back). As you set out from the trailhead, you’ll immediately start ascending a steep but short incline to reach the top of the bluff. The trail winds through a secluded valley, surrounded by awe-inspiring sandstone spires. Keep an eye out for cairns as part of the trail is on slickrock.
As you approach the grandeur of Tower Arch, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the austere Klondike Bluffs to your right. Tower Arch itself stands as an entrance fit for an Olympian palace-solid, imposing, and gracefully spanning the desert landscape. In spring, the snow-capped peaks of the La Sal Mountains frame the arch, creating a stunning backdrop.
