I personally stopped using my hard take-down recurve cases when I travel via public transportation. Specialy since the day a cursed young women was screaming like a degenerate on the bus because she thought I was a terrorist with some rifle. Better be with a backpack.

"Why would you worry if someone has a gun? The only time anyone shot at you was your husband's se*** 40 years ago." For real though, she sounds like a real pain.

Luckily, I was able to calm the young lady by politely explaining it was my bowcase and I quickly open the damn box to show her I was telling the truth that it was my recurve bow and not a rifle. I was lucky that nobody phone the police for nothing. Even the bus driver had to help me calm the lady. :-(

you should have shot her just to prove that you don't need an AR-15 to be a terrorist. Then watch as the media call a take-down recurve bow an "assault" bow with high capacity quiver and bump riser. Forcing bow laws to ban take-down recurves in favor of traditional one-piece bows since take-downs are made for efficient murdering.

Another great informative video from the great NUSensei. Many thanks and with warm, pleasant regards from the UK.
Hi Nu Sensei, I prefer the backpack although I'm a little biased, I often take my motorbike to archery practice. My arrows are 31.5 inches and that also limits my choice of cases. The first thing I did with my pack was remove every thing and inserted a 5mm sheet of plywood in the back with a 8mm med-high density foam layer glued on top of it. It makes the back of the pack flat no matter what you put in it and it gives the gear some protection when traveling. I also added low density foam at the bottom of the arrow tube and glued a choke about 100mm from the top of the tube (med-high density foam) with 12x 5mm holes (light interference fit) for arrows around a large 20mm hole for my long stabiliser, This way they don't knock together. When I fly to competitions I duct tape the Arrow tube closed and to the bag extension. I cable tie the zips closed. Shorten the and tie up the straps so they don't catch on anything and have had no problems. It meets all the airline bag measurements for checked luggage but often it goes with the oversize luggage because of its awkward shape (arrow tube). I have thought about a case but the little wheels don't work well in muddy paddocks - a not uncommon problem here in the South Island of New Zealand. If there is quite a walk from accommodation to the archery range a back pack is easy to use no matter what the terrain. I've looked at a Win & Win case (arrows fit nicely) but they don't have the reputation with other archers that I would have come to expect from a Win & Win product.

i feel you with your long arrows. I got a 62 inch onepiece recurve :)
Thanks for the great tips, NUSensei!!
I recently bought the Avalon bow backpack and I love it
Hey NuSensei, I have that cartel bag, which is shown in the video. It came in a bundle with my Samick Polaris. It's okay for my purposes. Storing and taking it to the range.
Thanks for the info!
Hey NuSensei, I will be travelling next year internationally and I will be taking by bow and gear with me. Am I required to use a hard case or can I use a back pack (which I personally prefer, but this is somewhat irrelevant). Thank you for a another useful video.

Blast Inferno77 I'd probably invest In a hard case otherwise you'll probably find you have a broken bow at the other end due to handling by airport staff (as I doubt it'll be small enough for carry on)

This review is from someone who definitely didn't go through airport!!! He didn't even talk about the issues on security & the hassle of airport personnel accusing people with archery hardcase with possessing a firearm!!! There was another vlog from a Olympic Silver Medalist in Archery that always go through this hassle (& harassment) that he now only use softcase!!! SO IF YOU'RE GOING FOR THE HARDCASE... PREPARE TO BE HARASS OR WORST BE IMPRISONED!!! (Hope you're not going to Russia)
I started archery here in China and I will be moving back home to California soon. I was thinking of buying the big case, but that seems to be a lot of extra money for the case and the luggage fee as well as I won't be able to bring as much with me to the airport. Was thinking of buying a Legend brand backpack and putting it in a regular suitcase. You guys think this will be alright? Any input?
Are there precotions when taking these on an airport
Having recently switched over to compound, the thing I miss the most is my backpack recurve case 😔
No mention of roll-up bags?
This is exactly the case I have right now. brand new bow, nothing to carry it in.

lol i see what you did there. good pun haha
Can you bring those to the airport or will they not let you
Hey NuSensei! I've been practicing archery for 2 years now but just recently I've been having this very strange problem. You see, in my vclub before we start shooting we always do some warm up exercises that consist on taking the bowstring with no arrow to the anchor point and then softly taking it back to rest position. The thing is that I'm able to do this exercise without a problem, but when I do the same thing with an arrow I'm not able to take the string to the anchor position and I shoot way too soon. It's weird because it's something that started a few months ago and that's really getting on my nerves. The weight is not a problem, I've been shooting 18lbs for the last 2 years so I don't understand why this is happening to me. Hope you can help me!

Target panic. It's a psychological trigger. It's a tough problem to track. One way to start resolving the problem is to shoot at a blank target at very close distance. Don't think about trying to hit the target. Just work on drawing and anchoring.

+NUSensei Thank you very much! By the way, I love your videos and they've helped me a lot.
Thank you i know what i wish for
Hi sir i am practicing archery since 1 year can u help me improve my sight and the right position :) I AM USING RECURVE BOW
I also discovered the hard way that another downside of the hard cases is their size. I bought one only to find out later that it couldn't fit in the back of my MINI but my backpack can...
Still waiting for that w&w case review
How do you store the long stabilizer on a backpack?
@NUSensei

Stick it in the arrow tube.
Good review! Title says roller case, which is not the case here.
How to buy this bag ???
I personally prefer the roll-over style bags, just wished they made them a bit better, I can fit all my essential gear in it, and its 1/2 the size of the average recurve backpack.

That's good to know, cause I just ordered one! They seem to the only brand still making such bags. My current one is from SF Archery and it is breaking apart.

A determined Fridge arrow roulette isn’t a safe activity, regardless of where you are doing it.
there's a problem for me because I shoot a horsebow that doesen't come apart

People I know who use horse bows either carry them openly (unstrung), or they use a roll-up style bag.
@HansPeter-qg2vc

Maybe you can use a case designed for compound bows. They don't come apart easily either.
Is there any case that HAS a platform molded in
