I have owned my Time Crisis arcade machine now for 8 months and it is still my favorite out of the 15 Arcade1up machines I own.

Man, if only it had TC2 (my fave of all time) and Point Blank 1 2 and 3. Would be even better if you could link two together for co-op play. That would by my dream 1up arcade machine.

Very nice, honest and thorough review! You left no question unanswered for me, so thanks man. 17” screens HAVE GOT TO GO, no matter if it’s deluxe or XL. It’s time for them to go away forever.

AFAIK its using sindens, so you could strip out the everything, and could hook it up to a 75 " screen and it would work. Me? I built a Dual Sinden setup, with a Ryzen iGPU and play everything from Chiller to House of the dead Remake, and cost me less than 749 USD for the screen and PC, maybe a lil extra for the guns, but only around $800USD total

Great review. As a Time Crisis enthusiast, they really dropped the ball on it. I think it would be better if it included Time Crisis 2 and used solenoids in the guns instead of the cheap manual recoil

I know. The original DL marquee design looked way better ! Is there a better aftermarket one out there? Also, though I really like the new Pac-Man XL, they cheapened out yet again by making it 75 pounds instead of 100 pounds, like their other XL cabs, such as GT XL. At 75 pounds , it only weighs about 10 pounds more than the deluxe which introduces a level of wobble that kinda sucks. I will prob put some weight in the inside bottom of it.

They should have recessed the screen to give it that more authentic look. I modded my T2 with the recessed screen. It looks awesome.

Can concur, not sure sure why they refuse to do that yet. The mod is somewhat cheap, although a bit tedious, and NOT a 1-person job, like building the actual cab...but if A1U cared, they could definitely incorporate it into a product, and make it that much better. But let's be honest...they probably don't ACTUALLY care. :/

Thanks for your review. It makes me upset that they would make a product that doesn’t actually emulate the arcade experience. In my opinion, that’s the entire purpose of the Arcade 1up machines, because there are so many cheaper and often times better ways to play these games for much much cheaper. The arcade experience is what we are paying a premium for.

Amazing in depth review man i really enjoyed it. Im not a huge time crisis fan but i was interested in big buck when i heard it was getting rereleased a month ago but ive held off because i couldnt imagine playing it on such a small screen and watching your video just confirms what i was afraid of. I dont know why they dont use at least their 19inch screen in the shooters but im guessing because this was already pricey as it is upgrading the screen probably meant they would of have to increase the price to something they figured very few would pay for.

ToyKade, Yeah, it's been a minute. I actually started my own KZread channel since we last spoke :) Thanks for the in-depth review! My big sticking point on the Time Crisis is the lack of games. I'm a big Point Blank guy also, but for the price tag, 20 games would've made it easier to consider. It's a beautiful looking cabinet, but as it stands now with the lack of value, I'd say, 4 games equals $400 for me, and that would have to include free shipping. Yeah, if I ever bought this one, I would always have the cheap recoil turned off and never use the function. As for the 17 inch screen, I'm with ya'. Some modders of Arcade1UP shooting cabs have proven that a 19 inch can easily fit in a normal sized (Non-XL) cabinet with no problem. I have a Big Buck Hunter A1UP, and find if I am no more than 3 feet away, I can play fine on the 17 inch monitor. It's just a shame I can't stand back further. Again, thank you for the review! You saved me $750 :) vgv

Using Sinden Lightguns together with Mame on a standard television provides the better effect at a significantly cheaper price.

I don't have a Sinden, but it seems using Sindens on a CRT kind of defeats the purpose of using them.

One could hope they learn from their first time go with the light guns and improve upon the cabinet design. And then we have the hope of looking forward to games like Lethal Enforcers, Area 51, Virtua Cop, and House of the Dead.

Honest question, ignoring the price of the cabinet… this machine Vs a PSOne on a CRT?

LIke, I Guess they must be making money, or why else woudl they keep making such craptastic cabs over and over?

I wanted this one so badly but $1495 is too much, it was bad enough I paid $1,000 for the Outrun. I'll definitely get one once the price comes down.

I loved Time Crisis as a kid. This looks more entry level and should be a lot cheaper, then they could do an enthusiast edition with an improvement all around.

Great review. This was the first time I've considered a Arcade1Up so I was interested to hear what you had to say. I know that when they first came on the market, the company made pretty good quality products for the price. But in the last few years, I've seen a lot of reviewers voice their disappointment, and this was no different. I think I'll just buy a Sinden gun and emulate the game on my PC with my 55 inch screen. I'll probably use the PS1 version to be honest as it has the classic TC arcade game and it's own Special level as well.

Time zone super sessions in the 90s was heaven , I absolutely loved point blank

Great video and review! Here in the states time crisis is over price by 200.00! I do agree that coin door is to low, and also the the panel should have merge together perfectly! The guns are cheap and i am hoping that Glen retro show is working on new guns like he did for big buck hunter! I will wait until the cab hit 549 or 499 before i purchased one!

Appreciate the review. The screen was the big worry for me; I was pretty sold on this cabinet, but now thinking I'd be better off just getting an Sinden lightgun and a copy of Time Crisis on PS1 instead.

Screen is actually even smaller because of the distracting white border. I just bought a crt tv with time crisis on ps1 with the accurate and reliable namco guncon and was blown away with how good old crt's look. Flashes so bright it hurts your eyes I love it, and only cost about 1/10th the price of this poorly made arcade1up product. Hope you enjoy it anyway man, nice review.

Great review mate! Covered a lot of ground and love hearing different opinions about this cab. It's hard to explain the manual gun recoil experience as it's very unnatural. Agree Point Blank is the best game on here for sure

In the end , Point Blank seems to be the favourite and with good reason since it’s a total party game with unlimited replay value 😊 PB 1,2,3 XL for the win but it won’t happen.

Have you ever thought of going with emulation. I converted a arcade cabinet. I have a 27 inch screen and bought an SSD from Kris coolmod with over 540 light gun games. It even has Teknoparrot games that are currently in the arcade. I have gun4ir guns, they are the real arcade guns with 24V recoil. I even added a foot pedal.

thank you for your review. i will stick with the retro shooter and order the bsa pedestal and deck for now. if we get a substantial price drop i will reconsider.

"The cab is too skinny and thin"... that describes ALL of the Deluxe cabs, at this point. This should have been an XL, period. It would have given 2" more screen, raised the coin door, improved the look dramatically, and given more justification for the price (even if the guns are kinda crap). Great license and a good cabinet design attempt, but ultimately a miss because it wasn't XL.

It's not XL, that's all I needed to know. Not a purchase for me. After getting their other XL cabs I'll never go back to buying the smaller cabs again.

Where did you get the Chewlix cab from?

I was really surprised it didn't have all the time crisis games. There are so many! 1, 2, 3, 4, crisis zone, and more I'm sure!

I was blessed to find Centipede at Ross and even got clearances to $200. I want this one but not for $750. I hope I get that same luck again with this one and can get it for $300 tops. If not ima have to dust off the PS3 and play some time crisis 4

That screen is the only thing making me not want to buy it. Is there a way to pop a bigger screen in or will it affect the tracking of the sinden gun?

Nice review, I just finished building my own for double the price of that T/C cab, but it has a PC with 32" and full 2 player rgb cpanel. but about $500 extra for the 2 Gun4ir's. It's time to build your own cab mate :D

My local HN has the display model for AU750 but after watching this review I don't think it's worth it. Such a shame that we don't have modern GCon.

Good review, I love light gun games, but this isn't good enough. I highly recommend anyone to pick up a CRT TV, PS1 + PS2 + Saturn + Dreamcast (and older systems), and play all the light gun games with perfect accuracy, zero lag, bigger screens, and of course two player co-op. All for a fraction of the price of this one lackluster arcade.

Good review. I think it fails overall for me. The most important things are the Screen, Foot Pedal and Gun. It feels like they cheaped out on those three aspects. If maybe one or two of those things were of high quality It might warrant it. They can get away with it on more standard arcade cabs because, you know, good arcade buttons and sticks arent all that expensive and you dont need the larget screen in the world. But this is Arcade1up punching above their weight. I really hope they don't even attempt House of the Dead because the original cabs had very large screens. Then again, I had fun playing it on the Saturn on my 20" crt. But Still!

Sindens are great guns. These mechanical variations are obviously just a cost cutting design like the tiny screen.

The recoil on the guns seems to be a cheap alternative of the real sinden lightguns, which has solenoid recoil, they work amazing. It's a good review though :)

17" in screen. Pass. basically don't need to move the gun much

if i bought this id be super worried the bottom would crack , the gun trigger pieces inside break with no way too fix it, the pedal wear out or warp ....lot of worries

Skipping this one and doing the buy stuff arcades mod to my T2....all these games plus more and better.

This is the best and most honest review of this cab.

Retro console light gun game Blows 1up 10x. 237$ retro console, has 80 lg games , 2 recoil guns , pedals, plug n play.

20" Dell would fix the screen problems slightly wonder if the geekworm lvds would work on this PCB! If so we can make a 20" monitor upgrade kit for this

I was so excited to see a Time Crisis 1UP Arcade but it's just very very underwhelming... that's too bad because I loved the first time I got to play Time Crisis hopefully there will be a refresh of this but yeah I'll be passing on this.

How are the graphics for time crisis? Is it as good as the actual arcade game, or did they settle with the port for the original playstation?

I'd mod it and put in a bigger screen. Looks like you could get a 22 inch in there.

$200. for the retro shooter with thousands of games including every game on this cab(PSX Time Crisis) and insane recoil. Just saying. 🤷🏻‍♂

Technically Time Crisis had five sequels, counting the home/PS1 exclusive in Time Crisis: Project Titan. There were also the spinoff games in Crisis Zone, and Razing Storm too.

I found one locally brand new at a furniture warehouse for $215 USD and it might be too good of a deal to pass up. Although this review makes me more hesitant

It's not worth $1500, It's not worth $750.

I feel like the game selection is the real let down, no Point Blank 2 or 3? I know people typically don't like console games on the 1ups but I feel like Time Crisis Project Titan would of been a great add

Damn $750 for Time Crisis 1 and a few other games? Hopefully we get another cabinet with multiple Time Crisis sequels. Then my interest would be piqued.

Does the rise in advertising for Arcade 1up Time Crisis mean the shipping date is getting closer this month or next?

So helpful mate thanks :) just by looking at it, the screen looks too small for 2 people to actually enjoy it. Would rather just take a trip to the arcade every now and then.

Shame on the price...I imagine there will be some 21" recessed monitor kits soon, but when you're already spending $750 that's gonna be a hard sell. This thing should be like $500.

I could totally live without the Steel Gunner titles. If this had TC 1 and 2 as well as Point Blank 1 and 2 I would be all over it. Only having the first games in those franchises though feels like a deal breaker for me.

The recoil of the slide on the time crisis games was one of my favorite things about the original arcade cabinets. The problem is that 1up's recreation of this just feels cheap and terrible. Nothing like the originals. Especially the trigger pull. I believe the recoil of the originals was triggered electronically but here it's a mechanical mechanism that is just uncomfortable.

Any thoughts or plans on using an emulator with this cab? I'd be very interested in utilizing the light guns in this way

Time crisis and point blank? Not in remark to your opinion but I'll be happy with anything with those Two games on it! have a few time crisis cabs I visit but as we all know, conditions vary. I'll be more than blessed to play my two favorite shooters on a brand new guns and cab In my house. I do hope 2 and 3 are on the same cab if we get one since I believe they're on the same firmware!

They could have included a few extension boards to hold the pedal in place

If you're happy with the cabinet, it may not be a bad idea to throw a PC in there, upgrade the screen & switch to Gun4IR's. Good skeleton for a light gun build.

Glad I held off buying this and I'm a huge time crisis fan...the cabinet should have dedicated guns that work like the arcade not guns made by someone else for PC emulation and all time crisis games should've be present on the unit....749.99 is way too much amd screen size needs to be better

Thank you for the very thorough review, confirmed my suspicions about the experience of the trigger/recoil function. I will continue to pass until they up the monitor size, which is overdue.

Sorry it's not arcade time crisis without a sturdy pedal, an impactful recoil and a weighty gun.

My final fight arcade hasn't worked in 2 years. Arcade1up is impossible to contact and properly communicate with about any problems at all. Only paid 150 for it new and it pissed me off so I couldn't imagine spending 900 on something that stops working after 20 plays and can't be fixed. My Mortal Kombat cabinet bricked but it works again somehow. Buyer beware.

T9 be honest it shouod have had a larger screen size, and the aspect ratio couod have been better especially for the type of cab that it is
