The arcs make it feel so much cooler. For example slo-mo type part where it's a long arc to maybe a song drop. I like what yall did in Firestarter also

Love that the arcs are friendly. I felt like they were very loose / magnetized to my motion, but this made that crystal clear.
This is hands down the best Explaination video I ve ever seen. The fact that they made a whole one map just for this is amazing and its really fun to watch.

While I am 100% on board with this update, my biggest gripe is that chain links don't give vibrational feedback. That vibration is what connects the player to the music and notes. Without that feedback, chain notes simply feel like regular notes that are more annoying to hit properly.

Thanks for the explanation on Arc notes, i thought i had to stay on the line for them to count, i appreciate it, i'm still trying to finish the last 30 seconds of Magic on Normal and it's destroying me (that sudden speed shift at the end of songs always gets me, awesome update and i hope that we get more Camellia songs from his back catalog as the game goes on, well done Beat Games)

The arcs are phenomenal, they feel like they were always supposed to be there. That make everything feel more badass and flows the songs better
I think the arcs are going to be very helpful in guiding toward the next note that might be strange - it’ll cause good muscle memory
@FluxOrbit

Firestarter Expert+ made fantastic use of them around 1:20 into the song. A section that, without arcs, would have been weird, is so much fun with them
I thought the arc was going to be something where you have to stay in that “lane”, but now hearing that it’s only there to guide you and be friendly and help you, it’s makes me feel better
I still can’t believe how awesome this update was, I kept failing the songs because I kept bouncing to the rhythm and I couldn’t help but dance a little lol. Keep up the good work guys

the use of the new lights system in this tutorial was great. really showing off the potential for future maps... great job!
so you dont need to follow the arc trails but they can be very helpful for the incoming note and which way you would hit them. pretty good if you are planning to do a very dense map and giving a little assistance for the players who cant efficiently sight-read the gameplay.
@AuroraStarstorm
2 жыл бұрын
It's also good for just very fast maps, players due to their reaction will need to basically move from point to point, which if your move from overhead to both arms outstretched can be very awkward. Arcs telegraph the player to brings there arms down in preperation for the horizontal swing.

In other words, they are for new/bad players. Honestly, not really, they are actually great even for me, and I regularly play incredibly difficult maps.
@AuroraStarstorm
2 жыл бұрын
@@Jdogrey1 that's not what I was saying, im fact it's good for people who hit 8 notes/second, being given an arc makes notes less obtuse to hit. Accessibility and comfort doesn't have to come at the cost of difficulty and I don't think it does either.

Thank you for making this video so clear and transparent. It answered all my questions, and some I hadn’t thought of yet! I’m excited to try this update
Amazing demonstration, seriously great job! And good to know that arcs are friendly, this way allows for more fun and feeling of the music!
the only *minor* thing i wanna say is i wish the chains had vibration for each link in the chain. i think that would enhance it even further, though this update is already great!
Great work, loving the new dynamics
Good explanation and cool additions! Thanks Freeek and Beatsaber devs!
This is a really great update, and im really impressed. Great job with the map designing as well! THANK YOUUU!!!
I have played the every song in the new pack and I must say that the new ideas you implemented work perfectly. This honestly makes the game so much cooler and you are did such a great job. It is so smooth and slick and I can't wait for more songs to utilize it!
It’s an honor being apart of the beat saber community! I get to see all of us make more maps, get better at the game and even enjoy it more! Thx for the great OST 5 update!
I love these new notes! I feel like I am playing the song even more now! Great job!

So glad they made these new mechanics so well!
I originally thought u had to follow the arch's but after this video, I can use less stamina by bringing the arch down to rest my arms. thank you for this information!
thats sick, the posiblities for map creation has been expanded and im excited to see what can be done
This was really nice. I couldn't figure out how the Arcs worked, but this helps a ton! The update in general is really well made. Good work.
Ohhh. Thank you for the arc explanation. I was under the impression that we HAD to follow it as close as possible!
This opens so many doors for songs which don't have fast drums, but instead have long chords. Love the new stuff!
Thanks for the explanation! I like these new mechanics
The mapping is amazing and I love the arc!!!
I love this new update it's the best one yet! Can't wait for more songs to come out with these new notes in them.

Coming back to beat saber after a long hiatus, I'm absolutely loving the new arc notes. They works so well for songs with drops or time/tempo warps!
The development in the past year of Beat Saber is brilliant! So much has changed and the experience just keeps getting better and better.
This really helps- thanks so much!
Playing with these new notes have been *really* fun, even after 2 months it still feels crazy cool. Though I think a cool feature would be a modifier named strict arcs where you have to follow the arcs roughly or you lose combo/health drains similar to how going into a wall drains your health and removes your combo
So cool! Thank you guys, best update ever!
Thank you for explaining this, I was worried that I would have to learn all the new things and figure out a different way to play. Thanks for explaining.
Thanks for explaining!
Great description, thank you
Firestarter has great uses of all these new elements! Thank you for the content!
Thanks for the explanation!!!
Well said. Love it! 💜
I was confused on the arcs, so thank you for clearing it up for me!
The arcs on Firestarter on Expert+ are so cool and I wanna see more of that in other songs.
This is extremely informative. I had recently got my female best friend into this game and have always struggled trying to explain scoring mechanics. I had to her to stop playing from the hip on her swings if she wants a higher score and a better workout. This helps visualize the movement she'll need to improve.
the arcs were so intimidating! glad they’re friendly :D
This is great thanks for the info 👊🏻 still yet to try the new update ⚔️💙♥️
I love this like tutorial map you guys made for yourself.
Really well explained. I was sceptical but it seems like arcs will be a great feature.
Been busy at work but I can't wait to try out the new update, the new stuff looks like it can reeeaaallyyy get a player immersed into a song!
The arcs feel so fluent and make the game so much funner and give the long notes a way more normal feel than just hitting a box and waiting
i updated it today not knowing of the new note typea and i was STUNNED. the arcs especially are so fun to play, they really give the songs more oomph. i played until my headset battery ran out, so I'm planning to play more later today 😎
This video was actually really helpful, I was a bit confused before
This looks amazing good job ❤️
I like how they add a really good challenge to the songs cause when I did one of the vol 5 songs I was confused thanks for telling me there purpose can't wait to see some challenging and creative things with these notes
Very informative. I kept missing these chain notes, now I see why.
thank your for continuing to innovate and for giving it to us for free!
god i love the new block types, and the music... oh the music is just perfect!
Can we just all appreciate the PERFECT TIMING of the tutorial explanation showcasing all the new blocks, scoring, examples, and arcs?

I LOVE that this is a subtle nod to the upcoming light changes.
I do think the arcs are a ton of fun. They're really satisfying for most songs they're in! I think that was a great choice
thanks for this!

thank you for the explanation this was handy.
this was soo good explained i could understand every single thing that was said 👍
This is sick cant wait for it to update
great video i like how the notes were demonstrated
Great video!
i had no idea we didnt have to be accurate with arcs. i was so focused on getting the whole arc and staying in line to the point where i kept failing songs. ty for this
I don't have any resemblance of a VR set, yet I was invested enough to watch the whole video, and I'm actually excited for the new notes implementation, great work there, I guess?
I came late to the vr scene because I couldn't afford it so after a half a year of having my psvr and saving up for some more games I was really excited to get beatsaber since I'd heard so much about it and I am so glad I did. Me and my sister have played with the headset more in the last two weeks than I think we have in the few months we've had it and I'm never looking back, its so much fun. And I'm glad that when I did come in to the game I came in after ost 5 and the first time I tried it with the living tombstones " I want to be a machine " and was pleasantly surprised by the arc notes I just had the biggest smile on my face, the songs on ost 5 are my favourite by far because the arc notes are just endlessly fun. It feels so good to hit them and reach up and down and around following the line that I just can't get enough of it I feel like I'm flying. Best vr game I've ever played and best workout I've gotten in years = ]
