Amazing chapter, this arc has made me appreciate the development that Subaru received up to this point. Having him back is awesome. Tappei is a genius. But if there's anything I know is that he doesn't give the reader 100% of what they want. I'm sure there will be a catch when it comes to Rem. Anyway, I'm excited to see how he writes her back into the narrative, especially with Emilia and Subaru becoming closer. 🤔

Maybe when Rem comes back, she's no longer in love with Subaru...What if Rui only peeled off Rem's romantic feelings but kept the rest of her memories, so when they get returned to her, she doesn't get back her feelings for Subaru

I feel like something like that could happen, like only partial memories coming back, I think that would have to mean part of her would still be trapped, since the Rem we saw (or part of her) was definitely the one who loves him. It would suck for us but definitely fix potential plot holes. Lol

@@mndfst9433 I'm not so sure about that one. That seems like it would be a major setback for her character, especially since she'd just go back to square one as a character since her feelings for Subaru are directly connected to her memories about getting past her inferiority complex. If this idea were presented earlier in the story then it would seem more likely, but don't you think having this happen just within the next 5 arcs of the story make things feel a little... Rushed? There would need to be proper resolution for her character, how it affected everyone around her, while also resolving literally every other plot point in the story. That seems like a bigger task than can be done from a narrative standpoint.

I'm just very curious how he plans to satisfy her arc, considering Tappei was interested in pairing Subaru with Emilia from the start. At some point I feel we'll have to say good bye in some way whether now or down the line.

I think he'll likely retain the authority of Gluttony that eats names and memories minus the eclipsing abilities. Sloth remained as unseen hands due to Subaru being incompatible with It. We don't know much about Return by Death, so the only known authority Subaru was compatible with would be Greed. The authority of Greed did change from how Regulus could use It, but only likely because Subaru was compatible with It. I highly doubt Subaru will be compatible with Gluttony, so I think the abilities will remain the same but will end up just like his unseen hands. Nerfed, with a kickback from use. Perhaps when eating a person's name, only acting as a stunning effect on the target... Something that just slows them down for a few minutes as they have a hard time remembering their 'self' or who they themselves are, why they're doing what they're currently doing, etc. Perhaps when eating a person's memory, temporarily stealing that person's memory and showing him the memory of the target the authority is affecting. Basically with RbD as a save mechanic, Greed as his defensive, Sloth as attack and Gluttony as a stun/info gathering ability; Subaru will slowly gain all the game-like elements he's always wanted on his Isekai adventure.

If its weaker then the original he would be able to absorb information from the target like abilities ans knowledge or weakness. But probably couldnt cancel the memory itself or change appearence.

Another fantastic chapter and it was well worth the wait. Lots of questions (at least mine) got answered, Louis is beaten quite thoroughly and I wonder if real Subaru was watching the whole time. And another thing is Subaru absorbed gluttony power just like greed I imagine it would a kind of inverse of the regular ability.

@@antaviousmitchell2240 I imagine her redemption would involve her returning all the stolen names/memories, and joining Subaru's party. She'd be similar to Meili in that sense. However I don't think she will be able to leave the Corridor of Memories without taking control of Subaru or Rem, so unless they figure out a way to get her out of there, I don't think she'll be joining the crew anytime soon

I might be wrong but i think that Louis took part on his soul and became kind of a other him, so i'm guessing that in the beginning she was able to take over a few times but ultimatly couldnt at some point anymore and remaind only as a spectator feeling the things he was feeling without being able to do anything other than just watch.

This arc should definitely end with Rem returning... unless Teppei's sadism ruins things.

@@doublehit9165 I was confused for a long time thinking that it was Louis as Subaru for the most part of arc 6, but in reality, Louis split her soul inside Subaru's body but it was still subaru who was controlling his body. Exept when Louis possesses Subaru and kills Meili. Is that what you're saying? This makes sense but even so... why Subaru with memories was in the Hall of memories if Louis could not erase his memories ? Did she find a way to separate Subaru's memories ? Please if you read this, share the information because I don't think that Louis was the subaru who we were seeing in the most part of arc 6 but in reality, we were seeing the Subaru with no memories .

The subaru in hall of memory isnt real, its an allucination like we see in "if glottony" story, that happen when a person read a book of the dead multiple times intil completely relive his/her life. Subaru had the control over his body but the stress to have louis partially posses him lead to a temporary lock on his memories (it will happen with any kind of possession from sin archbishop, with enpugh time it will happen also with petelgeuse). You can see its temporary because when louis stopped influencing him part of him he should have forgotten slowly show up in the story.

man return by death is Overpowered, I thought it weakened when he lost his memories, but it was just Rui Arneb....ahh man its definitely overpowered in memory retention.

I think she lost the memories because she ate his memories and when she overwrite him, she didnt get to keep those memories cuz his heart or his soul was no longer his maybe? I think it is because of solar eclipse, remember reid? He said if you tried to take possession of someone mentally stronger than you then you're the one getting possessed, and subaru is mentally strong af. And solar eclipse litteraly summone the person out of you

Unpopular opinion, but I don't blame her for being a horrible person. She was born in the hall of memories and she had no idea what being human was like, having a heart and how horrible it is to die and be killed. Her actions can't be redeemed or forgiven, but I think she has a right to exist and start over once she returns all the stolen memories, gives up her authority and stops being evil for good.

Can anyone else see the sin archbishops as toxic fans to this fantasy land? Betelgeuse (sloth): Obsesses over a wifu who doesn’t care for him or know he exists Regulus (greed): has a plethora of wifus that he loves equally but scarcely Alfard (gluttony): imagines being the people in stories to an unhealthy level Sirius (wrath): writes FanFiction that makes characters behave in ways they were never intended to. Capella (lust) complains about fan service and tries to censor out any attractive character.

We are in the actual chapter 75 and I think it was subaru with no memories and Louis togheter in Subaru's body. The only two times where Louis take over his body is when he kills Meili and when he scape from Emilia's ice prision right? Otherwise it wouldn't make sense that Subaru was being kind to the subaru with no memories

the reason she doesn't remember the death of anyone before Subaru is because Ley and Roy doesn't kill their victims, they steal their memories. An example would be rem not remembering her death because she's still alive, just an empty husk. Subaru is the only person who's memories have death because he has died before getting his memories stolen which nobody else can do.

First chapter of re zero bad. Lost and penniless, those few words were all he could think of. Well, penniless wasn’t quite right. He did have his wallet in his pocket and setting aside the fact that he had an abundance of small change and very few notes, it couldn’t be denied that he had his assets on him. More than enough to go to the nearest mall to do some shopping and eat some lunch. Even so, he could only be called penniless. “Looks like the currency around here is completely different after all…” Flipping the rare ridged 10 yen coin he was holding, the youth sighed deeply. He was an unremarkable youth bearing short black hair and average stature. He had some muscularity which combined with his cheap jersey gave off the air of an athlete. His sharp eyes were his only noteworthy feature, and now even they drooped helplessly. The banality of his appearance was such that one could instantly lose him in a crowd, however, the gazes directed at him were those of wonder and incomprehension, as though they were looking at something strange. There wasn’t a single person sporting black hair or a jersey among those looking at him. Their hair varied extensively, blonde, white, brown, green, blue, and so on. Furthermore, their outfits were armor, dancers’ clothes, monotone robes, and more which possessed a certain vibe. The inherent value of the currency in this world was easy to understand, certainly befitting a parallel world fantasy. “Well, I suppose there would be mixed-metal fakes. Something like a 500-won coin would probably degrade, though.” ‘Probably heavy to carry around, he thought as another lizard-drawn carriage passed through the street. This produced a giant cloud of dust and yet the townsfolk paid it no mind, as though they were completely used to this. “Even so, they don’t seem nearly as common as cars were… Come to think of it, I haven’t seen any dogs or cats around here.” The lizards drawing the carriages appeared considerably larger than horses. Their body mass seemed constant relative to their proportions, but it was certainly worrying to see reptiles of that size. “They’re commonplace, huh… Both lizards and humanoids.” Then the final piece he had to confirm, the unique looks of this world’s humans. They possessed very colorful hair, but one could easily obtain any hair color with dye. For a parallel world fantasy, that was nothing extraordinary. Instead, Subaru focused on their “animal ears.” At a cursory glance he spotted dog ears, cat ears, perhaps even bunny ears and he may have even caught sight of a lizardman-like being. Some looked no different from Subaru which led him to conclude- “The genre is parallel world fantasy. The culture is that of your typical medieval civilization. Demihumans are common, so battle and adventure might be common as well. The animals show some minor changes but they serve their functions. Is that how it is?” Having deduced that, Subaru exhaled a long breath that wasn’t quite a sigh. Having spoken of the circumstances he’d ended up in, he knit his brows at this seemingly convenient development. If things proceeded according to his fantasies, he’d freely use his modern knowledge to obtain incredible power, however, this world was slightly different from what he’d planned for. “I’d run perfect simulations of the Sengoku era… If I’d ended up there, I’d have seized the country from Nobunaga.” When it came to parallel world fantasy, at best his knowledge amounted to gunpowder production. And even that was meaningless considering this world’s technological level Parallel world fantasy generally came with magic, if that were the case it would probably make gunpowder little more than fireworks. “Well, there’s also cliches where magic isn’t the end all be all. If I ever get the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of science, I’ll do my best to… First, my current problem.” He had no clue how or why he’d been summoned here. First, his cell phone (with a dying battery), his wallet (containing many video rental membership cards), the ramen he bought at the convenience store (Shoyu Tonkotsu), some snacks (corn potage flavored), his beloved gray jersey (unwashed), worn-out sneakers (of two years) and more. “That’s that, huh… Why didn’t I at least carry a pistol? What do I do now?” It seemed only his snacks would prove useful, and only to fill his belly. “The situation is hopeless. And of course, I don’t know the source, I don’t even have any memories of passing through a mirror or hopping in a pond. Most importantly, where’s the beauty who summoned me?” The heroine’s absence, by 2D standards, was an act of inconceivable negligence. To summon him and just leave him like that, it was as though he was simply thrown away. In truth, Subaru could no longer escape reality now that he’d assessed his situation and he could only hang his head in despair. “Oh, give me a break already. What on earth am I supposed to do here?” Subaru was already at his limit as he muttered complaints. He earnestly wanted to go back, fantasy was best left in the realm of fantasy. It was fun to imagine arriving in another world to obtain incredible power, but to end up in such a situation, what could he do? “For now, what’s important is survival, but… Will my level 1 communication ability be enough?” Aside from his family, he only really spoke to store clerks. He’d lived this lifestyle for almost a year now and had long forgotten how to navigate social interactions. “Even though I can type at speaking speed in online chats…” Subaru moved his fingers nervously as he contemplated his future in despair. However, his expression changed when he heard the sound of footsteps echoing through the alley. He looked up to see three men blocking the exit. Well if the content that has been released so far gets animated it will take 2 whole seasons, each 25 episodes to just reach the 50% of the story so far, since it is still ongoing. Season 2 will contain only Arc 4 and it will have 25 episodes, whilst Season 1 contained Arc 1,2 and 3. The following Arcs are way bigger than the Arcs in season 1. The author has stated Re:Zero will have 11 Arcs total and a tragic ending.

@@2oshow Just to give you an idea how much better the story gets after the anime. When I finished watching the anime of Re:Zero i was like this is one of the best anime's I have seen. Then I read the Novels. After reading the content of the following Arcs that have not been animated yet I can say only one thing. If i compare the anime content (Arc 1,2 and 3) to Arc 4,5 and 6 i would say season 1 was bad compared to what happens in the next Arcs. The story gets more epic and wayyyyyy more dark especially in Arc 6. Also the anime adapts from the light Novels. The light novels are adapted by the Web Novels. Subaru's worse death happens in Arc 4 (Season 2 when it releases) but from what I've heard they changed it from the Web Novels since it was too brutal to be kept like that. I have already written a summary of it to another guy and I can just copy paste my other comment, if you would like to see his worst death just tell me. Also don't worry about spoilers, I made it without spoilers. The only spoiler is his death itself and how it happened nothing more. But the anime will probably have it the same way the Light Novels changed it to, so it will not be as brutal.

When reading the chapter itself I did not understand first what Louis was doing but then when you explain, I realize more than I realized before that Louis Arneb is a Naive Fool who can't tell the difference between Experience and Feeling the Experience. It just solidifies my impression of Louis Arneb that she is naive

Amnesia Subaru = Rui using Subaru's body as a container. So yep, Tsugihagu Subaru was Rui. Now it's REALLY the gluttony IF lol

Yes but I don't know if it's really possible for him to lose it. Satella seems to want him to have it and she's powerful enough to prevent that from happening

He can loose it only when he is satisfied and dont want to return anymore. Then when he die he reappear next to that minimarket. The only unknown thing is if he will retain memory or not

No, that Subaru is not 100% Louis Arneb, when Subaru came into the Hall of Memories, Louis ate his memories and the strange thing was, his memories did not disappear, and then Louis just splited herself into 2, and Louis is a soul with a Witchfactor, so she and Subaru merged, connect their Witchfactor toghether, like, becoming one, but the question is, the soul of Subaru came into HoM and did not lose his memories, then why when he cameback, he lost it? if Subaru was 100% Louis, that did not make any sense, who killed Meili? when Subaru, Ram, Beatrice fight Lye Batenkaitos, Louis Arneb took control of her brother and fighted Emlia and Ram, so that means, Subaru over there watching, rather, Louis over there just sit there and watch? sorry my english is poor, i just read the re zero arc 6 chapter 75 for the first time, i didnot watch arc 7 yet, so please explain to me what happended to Subaru chapter 75? and who is the [Subaru] after Subaru read 20 books ?

Now Rui came back to real world i wonder what she will do. She cant live her "perfect life" but she finally got herself a life but I dont think subaru would let her inherit the gluttony factor and since she cant just get rid of it herself and she is hella scared of death she will just fight. I hope she just doesnt eat Subarus name and memories though.
