Oh, my goodness!! That is the best performance of this concerto I have ever seen/heard. Arabella is simply fantastic.

Exquisite and very high level performance. And what a left hand fourth finger !! I have never seen such suppleness and ease for vibrato with this finger in any violinist.

So deeply satisfying. Grateful to be alive in the era of Arabella. And Marriner and the NHK are not too shabby, either. ;)

Queen of Beethoven violin concerto, she has three recordings on UT in Germany, Spain and Japan; this one at her mother's birth place seems the best; Marriner and the Japanese recording sure made the difference.

No one played this concerto better than Wolfgang Schneiderhan. But young Arabella Steinbacher is very very good! BTW her trademark single strap gown is also very cool!

Sarah Kraus they know it’s being broadcast, see, so there’s no point in coughing when there is loud music playing, as no-one will hear it.

the same flaws like Mutter, she has also this unhealthy tendency to put rubatos in the middle of sentences, but moderately, compare to Mutter, and just like her, she lacks the global understanding of the concerto. You need lots of life experience to be able to conjure the soul of this concerto like Oistrakh or Menuhin.
