and shadow sharpens its attack,

If someone told me this was a remastered track off Philophobia, released a quarter-century ago (oof) that I'd somehow missed, I would believe them. Arab Strap might be the most consistent band ever. And consistently fucking great.

Perhaps as they have just toured philophobia recently the style of that album is back in the front of their minds as like you said it would fit in there perfectly. I don't think malcolm has created anything other than amazing in his career.

Killer tune and the album cover looks. The guitar riff sounds a lot like Siberia by Diaframma. Surely unintentional but very funny that you ended up with the same-ish melody of a rather obscure (yet cult) italian new-wave single :)
