When she was very young, Angelina said she wanted to use her music to bring love to the world. How many children think of such things? I hiope many more. I hope a new crop of new humans are coming onto the planet loaded with talent and finding a way to share it with us. It does bring love. She sings this one with her eyes closed for much of it. She is channeling the song. When she sings how she gives all of me, the softness and beauty of her voice moves me to tears. She did the work, put her 10k hours in and mastered her vocal instrument. Her new EP that just dropped is 🔥 🔥, AJ came off the starting line firing on all cylinders!

Your comments at the end are spot on, Boudy. "There, but for the grace of God, go I." We all are the fortunate ones, because Angelina's family and support group recognized her talent at a very young age, and they were able to nurture, support and promote that talent. And we all are the beneficiaries of that recognition. For every Angelina Jordan out there, how many hundreds with similar talent will never get that chance.

What you will realize in so many of these home videos is that she is practicing one technique after another by doing and we get to watch. The recordings are pretty much done by herself or her grandmother. A number of them are not gonna have the production quality to be able to critique them on that. Her voice always shines through with flying colors though. This was a karaoke track with a very rudimentary midi piano piece that is too loud. The rest of it is magic. The story goes that she received that Neumann TLM 102 for her 12th birthday. Anything with it is after that. Thank you for your reactions to Angelina. They have great depth to them and I love the way you understand her or at least try to put yourself in her position--trying to understand what she might be thinking.

Exactly, the production kept masking the nuances in her singing so the sheer genius and beauty of her voice did not come through as clearly as most of her other songs. Regardless, still beautiful.

How she can do this? Her simple answer.. Magic..i am sitting at piano, jamming and the magic 🪄 begins. She wrote 100 Songs for us 😄🙏 and wrote a bookshelf of Journal 😮 can't wait for the whole LP. Her Cover Songs are great but her own Songs are full of love and happiness 💞 Magic ✨

This particular cover is one of the most magical and honest and deeply felt covers I have ever seen and heard. She was 13. We don't need to or shouldn't need to think of how THIS cover should be better. This cover is EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT. I so understand how you were wanting to improve it and then realized it actually needed no improvement at all, considering that it is a cover .. a cover on KZread .. but certainly one of the best covers ever. When younger and the song was really emotional She shuts her eyes to help her enter the world of the song without distraction. You cannot always rely on post dates for her age.

I would like to make reference to something that happened during the 'Shoe Story' when Angelina had a conversation with the poor unfortunate girl. She asked the girl want she wanted to do with her life. (The girl was about 7 so here we have a conversation between a 6 year old and a 7 year old.) I'm assuming the girl shrugged her shoulders a bit when she told Angelina she would have wanted to be a doctor. Angelina quickly spoke up and told her to 'never give up' and 'have hope that your dream will come true'. And, of course, on the way home Angelina realized she never wanted to forget that little girl and the fact that there are so many children in the world who, at the very least, didn't own a pair of shoes, and she decided at that moment that whenever she sang in public to appear on stage barefoot so that her memory of the girl would never fade. Yes the karaoke track is a bit stiff and loud, but remember she did all of this herself, as a hobby.. after school and homework and between practice and supper/bed time.. At 12/13.. She probably liked the reverb.. ;-)

Thank YOU for explaining the overpowering, distracting reverb. I literally thought the speakers on my TV were causing the problem, so I clicked the "audio" option in the menu and shut off the "surround sound" option. When that didn't help, I realized this song was recorded with the reverb. I still enjoyed the song and gave you a thumbs up!

I want to say im tired of Angelina Mondays, but then you listen to her. It's incredible.

Greatly appreciate your commentary concerning children whose environment doesn't allow them to pursue their talents. After learning about Angelina and Alma Deutscher, (current day classical music composer), The Warning and there are many more prodigies, I wondered how many children, especially girls, who have the natural talent but were unable to use it. Thoughts such as that, make Angelina as a person, much more meaningful. She, and her family, have always preferred Angelina to sing at events which help raise money for charity. May her efforts help the children of the world throughout her life and I encourage everyone to support Angelina and all charities to help their fellow humans.

Andy, Great minds think a like. I have been thinking about this subject a lot. Prior to this review by AMR (which are always wonderful). It popped in my head because Mr and Mrs Villarreal of Monterrey, Mexico. I was putting them on a bit of a pedestal. I mean, it was for all the wrong reasons. They belong on one, but it a big ass pedestal. The reason I state that is, I have an 11 year old, who plays basketball. Like, the parents who's child is exceptional in science, or the parents who's kid is a young entrepreneur or the father of a 4 year old who loves to go to dance class (and has no rhythm lol). Most of us try anyway possible to help our children explore and have an opportunity to be successful or more importantly enjoy life. Its not always cheap ( I wish I had a Patreon lmao), and many times, it changes, but like the Villareal's our reward is our children's happiness. I mean are Danny , Pau and Ale any more focused than a college student who has studied to become a Dr or lawyer, probably not. I guess What I'm trying to say is, A lot of children aren't as fortunate, yet they succeed despite the lack of parental guidance, and they are just a little bit more exceptional. I think where The Villareal's excel is raising good young women in a viper's nest of a dangerous Industry and they seem to be normal kids I meet the sisters Wednesday night in Detroit cant wait. Back to AJ for a second any thoughts on the short length of every song on the EP. I will tell you as former DJ and Program director. I find it troubling... your thoughts?

I truly believe the length of the songs is a reflection of the current music industry and Angelina has been instructed to work to get her songs to fit into the desired length. I get to meet Dany, Pau and Ale, tomorrow night in Cincinnati. My 4th concert but first meet and greet.

How can she do this?She is Truly amazing. She was given a voice, great focus and a grandmother and family that nurtured the gift. There always people that are ahead of their time or other people can not understand how they are so good as they are. She worked on her gift her whole life with help and guidance. Sometimes we just just need to accept that people have a vision or talent and just know that part was a gift and a large part was their dream and hard work to make it happen. We just need to enjoy her singing in amazement and glory, accept it as s gift at the ground level. I enjoy her music do much!! Please respond!!!!!

When you check the age of a YT video, you really should hover on the text indicating how long ago it was uploaded, or click on it, to see the actual upload date (based on U.S. Pacific Time). Because a video uploaded "4 years ago" could actually be up to just shy of 5 years old. (In this case, the video was posted approximately 4 years and 7 months ago, and thus, as others have pointed out, allowing for some time for editing, the video could well have been recorded when she was still 12.) But whatever.😁

Please listen to Koji Tamaki singing "Ikanaide", which you liked so much when done by Dimash. Tamaki is the composer of the song. I especially recommend the 1989 performance.

Absolutely agree that the backing track, both the excessive loudness of the piano and the kinda wierd sounding harmonies, detracted from the overall production. Her angelic voice and breathtaking talent deserve better than that. It would be amazing and wonderful if she would consider doing an update of this with better music support. I would also LOVE to see her do an update of "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", and it would be a dream come true to see her do the latter accompanied by Ivan Mendez.

This is wonderful, but I the piano track was 50% too loud.

Dear Arab Man, I wonder if you're a man of faith. (You sound to me like you are, but I don't want to make assumptions - ) Let me just say that I am a person of strong faith , and here's what I believe is true- As you talk about existential discussions... and people with tremendous gifts that may not have opportunities to show what they can do - I truly believe that God has gifted everyone in different ways, but that they're not all for universal recognition, but some are to make a difference right where they are - in our own little worlds. I believe that however God meant for them to be used will happen- we'll get the right resources and the right opportunities (including "coincidences") to lead us into however our gifts are to be used- as long as WE show up, and do OUR work (practicing and growing our gifts as best we can). So we should just use our gifts liberally within whatever outreach opens up to us. If they bless ONE PERSON, the world is a better place! -Now, it looks like Angelina is supposed to reach the whole world with this tremendous gift she's been given- she not only has been born with the amazing skills she has, but in a family with wisdom and with means... and she's been able to travel... and she's got both the looks and the personality to not only attract people, but to truly touch their hearts, and souls. AND she's been born with the heart, and tremendous desire, to help the world- and to SING!!! (-AND, she, too, is a person of strong faith, so she'll be able to tap into that Supernatural Guidance to lead her down the right path! We should pray for her protection and direction~)
