Ойындар

NOTE: During your main action you gain coins/power from multiple locations, but only once PER location (for example, you couldn't exploit a location to get gold, and then exploit that SAME location again to get more gold). So 4 years ago I used this channel to help me play my one and only table top game at the time; Lord of the Rings the Card Game. And I finally learnt how to play it. I know have a total of 22 board/dice games under my possession and have once again found this channel. All I can say is I love it! Thank you so much for teaching me how to play all these games. @@WatchItPlayed well, not specifically. I’m just confused on something. My understanding in reading the rules was you can only use the +coins or +power resources from the depth cards when used at the same time as the character card (main action) to buy or conquer a location. Can you buy or conquer additional locations, or buy additional recruits on the same turn (either before or after you’ve completed the character card actions)? Does this make sense?

    Crazy late commenting but incase others are scrolling, I will answer. With The Grabber (or any card that says you can take a location or character) you still have to pay the cost in either Conquer or Coin for the cards you are taking. In the case of "The Grabber" Conquer a location. Conquer another location, you would have to be able to pay enough Conquer for both locations. If you can only afford one location, you can still play The Grabber, but you will only conquer ONE location.

Example: - I am purchasing a location - I use a location to get +2 coins - The next spot on this same location is blank and the one below that is another +2 coins - Can I do a raise action in the middle of this purchase action to get to that next +2 coins? Thanks!

  • @ArcaneWonders

    @ArcaneWonders

    3 жыл бұрын

    Correcting what I wrote as my example wasn't correct - that's what I get for quickly answering and not actually thinking! :P You cannot interrupt a main action with other actions such as raising. So in your example you would not be able to get to the other +2 coins as you'd need a raise action which would interrupt since you already exploited for resources during the purchase (as this can only take place during the main action). If you had say 2 locations, one currently showing +2 coins and one showing blank, +2 coins then you could first do a raise action from another location or a manta to raise the blank. then start your main action and exploit both locations for the +2. So apologies, but you wouldn't be able to do what you wrote. Basically remember this: exploiting for resources is only to help pay for an action you are already taking and you cannot interrupt that action with an effect such as raising.

    I have a few questions about the game: 1. If you played a card that lets you buy a location, but you already have 5 locations on your player board and/or you don't have enough power and/or coins to buy/conquer any of the locations currently on the main board, would you do? 2. If the location deck runs out (causing one of the end game triggers), would you shuffle the location discard pile to form a new deck? Also, during the last round of the game, if there are no more locations and/or characters available to buy from the main "market", then if a card would let you conquer and/or buy either of those 2 types of cards, then would you skip that part of the effect and not gain any cards? 3. When a character is discarded from the main market, would you put that character into a character discard pile (the market board doesn't show a space for a character discard pile)? Also, if the character deck became empty, would you shuffle the character discard pile to form a new deck when you would be require to revive a character from that deck? 4. I don't know if you can answer this question, but at 4:17, you showed a card called "Meg" that has an effect "Others discard a character" when played. Can "Matrona" be discarded to fulfill "Meg" effect, or will it always have to be any character but her (and others that can't be discarded) to fulfill it? Also, if "Matrona" is the only card left in your hand, and an opponent plays "Meg," then would you just show that Matrona is the only card in your hand, and discard nothing? Those are my questions for now. Let me know if you can answer them.

  • @VitaliiTiutiunnyk

    Hi Daniel, 1. You can still play that character. According to the rules (p.12, Main Action) you can still play a character if you can't do fully what the character's card says. In your case, you will just discard that character card, but you'll still be able to perform additional actions from your mantas and location depths, like scoring, raising, etc. 2. The rulebook doesn't say anything about reshuffling, so I would assume the answer is no, you have to use whatever locations are left on the board. And yes, as per the previous answer, you can still play the character to conquer/buy location if there are no locations available or to recruit with no characters available on the board. You will just do nothing as your main action, but you'll still be able to play additional actions and/or claim the goals. 3. Character discard from the market only happens as a special rule in 2-player game, if I remember correctly, that is why they might have decided not to add a placeholder for characters discard pile on the game board.In our playgroup we just discard them separately somewhere next to the board. Again, there is nothing in the rulebook regarding the reshuffling, so you'll need to deal with the characters that are left there on the board. You'll still need to shift the remaining characters to the leftmost positions after any of the remaining characters were recruited. 4. As it is written on the Matrona card itself, "This character cannot be discarded", so you will have to choose any other character to discard. If you are left only with Matrona in hand, then I guess you can't fulfil that action and don't discard anything. Yes, you can reveal it to the other players, but if you are left with only one card in your hand, it is obvious that it is Matrona that left :)

    Hey Daniel, 1. You fulfill as much of the card as you can, skipping over anything you can't do. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iamf0LKdnca2c9o.html 2. It is not re-shuffled. Don't worry, if the deck was meant to be re-shuffled, I would show that. 3. See above. 4. The card effect on Matrona says: "This card cannot be discarded", so you can't discard it. Hope that helps!
