    Thanks for this video! I just had my system installed today and the manufacturers instructions for initiating the first regen cycle were a little confusing for me, so I had no idea how to tell if everything was working correctly. I appreciate your thorough explanation of what to expect during the regen cycle, it helped me double check to ensure that things were running smoothly.

    Came here for review of aquasure softener. If you have an oring seal do not use Teflon tape. The tape could prevent the oring from making contact and sealing.

  • @pianomanamz

    @pianomanamz

    8 ай бұрын

    Not saying you're wrong because I honestly don't know the correct way but the instructions do say to apply 5-6 wraps of teflon tape around the threads of the plastic nipples going into the pre filter housing. Those have O rings on them so not too sure what to do. Use tape or not?

  • @MrBeeHS

    @MrBeeHS

    8 ай бұрын

    @pianomanamz yes you still do need to put Teflon tape around the thread. Even though the pipe has O-ring on it. It's the best way to get a better seal on the threads so you won't have leaks. It'll be a very hard task to remove the pipes if those pipes are leaking when turning on the water. I hope this helps. Please let me know your progress after your installation. 🙏

    Be aware; the inner diameter of 3/4" PEX B fittings are smaller than the inner diameter of 3/4" copper tubing. If you already have 3/4" copper throughout your house and want to avoid flow reduction, then you should use either 3/4" copper, 3/4" CPVC, 1" PEX B, or 3/4" PEX A (PEX A is expanded over the fittings so the inner diameter is not reduced like PEX B). If you choose to go with PEX B, it is best to use the brass fittings instead of the plastic ones, as the plastic fittings are thicker than the brass, so they have a smaller inner diameter and will restrict flow slightly more than the brass fittings. However, if you are hooking directly to your main water line and it is 1" copper, then your best bet to maximize flow and pressure downstream of your system would be to install the entire system using 1" copper, 1" PEX A, or 1" CPVC. I realize this is a lot of information, but I hope it helps!

  • @MrBeeHS

    @MrBeeHS

    Жыл бұрын

    Give the system about a couple of weeks or so to see if the smell disappeared and make sure all of the valves on the water softener system are fully opened and there is no blockage of the waste water line from the resin tank. Where is the smell coming from? The smell in the water or it came from the system itself?

  • @MrBeeHS

    @MrBeeHS

    4 ай бұрын

    Yes, once 73 gallons run out, it will regenerate at 2 am. Also, don't forget to check my other video on how to calculate and set up the total gallons for your household. A 1,000 gallons was a preset setting from the factory, and you don't want to leave at that setting. Because it generates too often. Please check it out. It's the video in my channel about how to test water hardness and set up on AquaSure Harmony Series 64,000 grain.

    why is the drain water going outside and not to a plumbing drain? Does the dirty/salt water kill the grass?

  • @MrBeeHS

    @MrBeeHS

    10 ай бұрын

    There is no plumbing drain in my garage so I drain it outside towards the area where I installed French Drain. Yes, the dirty salt water will kill the grass. In my situation, the grass never grow on the side of my house where I drain the water (mostly are dirt and weeds) and that is the reason. If you do have access to the drain near where you install the water softener, I would recommend to drain it there. 😊

    Just found out a new house I am interested in gets water from a Well. Would this system help to ensure that there' clean water? My kids have sensitive skin.

  • @MrBeeHS

    @MrBeeHS

    11 ай бұрын

    Yes definitely! But it's a good idea for you to install an extra water filtration system for the well water to get filtered before the water softener system. To ensure the water softener system to work properly and efficiently and prolongs its life. Well water has high minerals and it's not safe to drink unless filtered.

  • @Blitzkrieg.u812

    @Blitzkrieg.u812

    @@MrBeeHS to my understanding, minerals in the water is good for your health... extreme hardness is not good... to much of anything is not good.. bottled water has hardness added after filtration... city/town water has hardness added after filtration... what are your thoughts? p.s .... copper pipes are anti microbial, plastic is not...

  • @MrBeeHS

    @MrBeeHS

    10 ай бұрын

    @blitzkrieg.u812 yes you are correct 💯. Minerals in water are good for your health....up to a certain limit. Too much minerals will cause harm to your body like causing kidney stones in your body. Yes bottled water has hardness added to it as well and also to help with the taste. It also depends on where you live as well. Some cities or states have extreme hardness than others. Especially in my area...Dallas, TX. Hardness is very high in my area. So installing water softener helps a lot for my water inside my home. I also have an 11 stage Reverse Osmosis water purifier as well for drinking and cooking. Since my house is still new, they are all using PEX pipes vs copper pipes to save on the cost. Bottom line, I still wouldn't drink water straight out of the faucet unless it's purified and reducing hardness in water will help your household appliances run better and last longer and better healthier life.😃👍

    My water softener system is a fine mesh system that can remove dissolved iron up to 10 ppm from the water coming from the city. Usually, cross-link water softener is good for water without chlorine that's coming from the well water. I hope this helped you decide which system to get.

    You mean the upper distribution basket? The small gray basket? It's a little tricky on it. When you turn it counter clockwise, it should lock in place and it shouldn't come off when you wiggle it. Sounds like it's partially locked, that's why it came loose when you wiggle it. Try to put more pressure on it when you turn, but don't break it though.

    Nice job! Quick question on why you left your controller set at 1000 gallons? Let's assume you have a family of 6 and your water hardness is 20 GPG (Very Hard Water). AquaSure's own website shows your regen should be set to 2,750 Gallons (City). By keeping the controller at 1000, you are flushing far too often and reducing your softener's efficiency.

    Hey Mr. Bee, it's me again. I installed my 64,000 grain about 2 months ago. I noticed the brine tank is about halfway filled with water. I'm not sure if this is normal or not? My old softner had only salt in between regeneration.

    Yes, it's correct. It's supposed to be halfway filled. Mine is halfway filled also. This particular brand will be halfway filled. You can adjust the water level as well in the brine tank. The adjustment is inside the white tube. It's kind of like in your toilet water tank.

I’m using iron fighter pellets but still getting a little discoloration/ hardness. Any tricks you can suggest ? I’ve sent aquasure my water test/ results and they wasn’t much help other than helping me set the cycle to 2500 gallons instead of factory default of 1000 gallons. Any help is greatly appreciated

    During BD, water shouldn't come out through the drain. Basically, it'll draw salt water from the brine tank to charge the resin inside the resin tank.

    That is how it is....I know how you feel because it's a waste of water down the drain. It's ok because that is how the process works. You can't really use that water on plants or grass because it will kill the plants.....too much salt concentration. You shouldn't change the settings because the length of process was set at the factory, and it's not recommended to change the settings.

    So when you say that your water smells bad now, does that mean your system is working now? What kind of brine salt are you using? Are you using the pellet kind? Also did you set up according to the number of people in your household? What size of piping are you using for your water inlet and outlet? Looks like your system might need some tweaking on the settings as well.

  • @MrBeeHS

    @MrBeeHS

    Actually you are incorrect! Brine waste water contains a high concentration of salt. Sure you can water your plants with it and your plants might be fine right now, but just wait, your plants will eventually die from the brine waste. Salt concentration from brine waste will affect your plants. The salt concentration will fake the nutrients for plants and make plants think that it has enough water to feed and eventually the plants will die of water starvation.... it even kills my grass! I let the brine waste out into the side of my house and now all the grass turned yellow.

Water to your water bibs don't need soft water to water plants but plants don't mind clean water too.

    Wow! Really? Can you show me any source of information or scientific proof stating that conditioned water will not harm plants? I will be waiting for that and please put a link in my comments so everyone can check it out if the proof is true that conditions water will not harm plants. How long have you use conditioned water to water your plants? Yes, you can definitely drink conditions water, just like drinking tap water (not conditioned water), but it's not good for your body (high in TDS).
