    Nice video ... Just got the heater yesterday and the red light was getting on outside the tank but not inside. Called the shop regarding the light and he too didn't know it and said to use it for 3 days and revert but he said exchange not possible. After seeing your video I got all the info. Thnx a ton...

    @@UriShasha thank you for the quick response. I hadnt noticed it turn red ever until just yesterday, after i had done a complete water change in my turtle tank. At first i had assumed it was normal because i was putting cold(ish) water back in the tank, and i assumed the heater was just working 'overtime' to try and regulate temperature. I then turned the temperature knob down, and it ceased with the red glow. Tonight i turned it back up to get the tank temp back to around 78deg and it turned red again. I wasnt sure what to think, and ive seen conflicting thoughts on whether that is normal or not. Thank you again

    Great insightful video. 290 litre (from Australia) or 76.5 gallon aquarium tank and I currently have a 300W heater. However, I was thinking of replacing it with two Eheim thermocontrol heaters at 200W each to evenly distribute the temperature/use as a back up. What are your thoughts?

    +Aimal HK I think you should replace it for two reasons: 1) since it too strong it will switch between on-off very quickly which cause it to wear off fast 2) in case it will malfunction, it might over heat your tank water before you notice t

    Just use a heater controller and it will prevent it getting stuck on, then you can use as big a heater as you like. Bigger heater means the temp is more stable if the room temperature drops. E.g. A 100w heater might not be able to keep a 100L tank at 25c if the room it's in is under 20c.

    Hi, I would like to know if you could help me. I am new to keeping fish, and I didn't know you were supposed to fully submerge a heater. Well, now if had mold growing on the top there's not copious amounts, but I know the mild will grow, but I don't want to put it in the water with the fish. Can I clean it or do I need to replace it?

    Hey, Im little bit confused by installing heater diagonally for short and wide tanks instead of installing it horizontally. I would of thought installing heater horizontally is good as long as heater can fit horizontally. Diagonal install makes sense for me if a heater couldnt fit horizontally because tank is too narrow. Am i missing something?

    I bought a 50 watt Fluval M series heater and it will only stay on for a few minutes before shutting off. I have it where the protein skimmer would go in my Evo 13.5 gallon tank. It doesn't even work if I set it under 81°F.

    Not all heaters may be installed on the bottom, always read the manual. Also a lot of heaters NEED to have the top of the heater out of the water at all times.

    I set my water temperature in my aquaruim, to 30 degrees(using heater). I have a flowerhorn using 20 gallons aquaruim. is it okay to set it that high? the color and hump of my flowerhorn improved when I do this.

    30 is too high!! go to around 26-27, unless your treating for ick it will eventually mess with his metabolism and shorten the fishes lifespan.

    Then you have around 40gallon/160liter tank. 200w should do.

    Hello there!I got a question.I have an Hailea HE-200 model aquarium filter and at the right side there's a hole and my thermostat fits there but i am not sure i can place the thermostat there.If u can help me please reply to my comment,Thank you

    what happens when you use a heater that’s more than what your supposed to use, will a 50w work on a 5 gallon tank?

    It will heat the tank too fast. For example: in case of power outage the temperature might drop and when the power will be back, it will heat too fast.

    It doesnt harm anything as far as you controll its air flow. If you were talking about heater. Then.. its okk to use any heater as the watts effects the time it takes to heat. the water.

    If you use hight watt heater, it will take less time to warm the water as compared to the low watt heater.

    Do I need a heater? (My tank {10 gallons if it matters} was at the lowest temperature on the thermometer {64 degrees Fahrenheit} but will reach the low 70s on its own. It’s is in my bedroom and I live in Missouri with very sporadic weather changes)

    64f is too low...you need to make sure the water temperature stays between 72-84f

    It's x3 more than what you need. I recommend replacing it with 50w

    100w would be ok too...but flowerhorn need at least 40gallon tank! They can grow up to 1ft long...
