I just now realized the guy who plays Aquaman's father is actually Boba Fett

It’s crazy how this became the highest grossing DC film ever considering how Aquaman was always treated as a joke.

For me, and I'm sure others Aquaman was seen as goofy with silly powers (depending on the comic writing) and wasn't near my favorite superhero, but this movie really made me like him, not completely but this take on the character made him seem more cool and badass I guess.

For me, I think the reason this is my favorite is because the CGI doesn't completely fall apart in the final act. For a number of the DCverse movies, it just feels like WB wants to use CGI, but doesn't want to pay for good CGI. And it seems to happen in the final act. The Doomsday fight. The Ares fight. The Starro fight. The Flash... movie. When the bad CGI shows up, it becomes hard to enjoy the movie, regardless of story. Somehow Aquaman managed to maintain fairly consistent CGI work. The Manta helmet was a bit weird, but at least they addressed it in the movie.

When I saw this movie for the first time in theatres in Portugal, I thought that the scene with Aquaman coming out from the waterfall in his classic orange and green costume was the most awesome moment. It was just so cool that they were able to have Aquaman wear his classic outfit and not look so corny. Being a DC Comics fan, I’m always relieved when they’re able to ge the costume right. And in this case, they totally did. P.S. - I thought the two of you were very cute and adorable as you were gushing over Jason Momoa 😄😄 As always, good to see you girls smiling and laughing. It puts sad people like me in a good mood ☺️

I remember hearing that he was going to be wearing the classic costume in the movie before it was released and I said, "How the hell are they doing it without it looking really stupid?" And they actually made it look BADASS!

Especially during the moment when we first see him in the classic costume, as he is coming out of the waterfall. It’s a good intro like that makes something stand out in the most badass way possible.

This action movie has a fair amount of humor in it. Jason Momoa seems to embody the right combination of imposing physique and jovial good nature to pull this off.

I dug this movie , can't wait for part 2 that's coming soon. They feel more relatable when they have a sense of humor cause most of us have one. These movies sometimes feel like different continuities at times , like Mera having a different accent than in Snyder cut. I still dig all these DCEU movies, even the different versions of the same film like both cuts of Justice League. Hope you guys continue to watch all of them .

Yeah, it's gonna flop so hard, like every other of these pointless movies after Snyder Cut (enjoyed only those made by Snyder and the first Wonder Woman, Aquaman and the first Shazam were just okay to me), since they'll reboot it all anyway. Everybody can like whatever they want... A great reaction, as always, ladies. :)

24:45. This is the nicest joke ever

I surprised myself by loving this movie as much as I did. I loved seeing Willem Dafoe(who I only know as Green Goblin and his character in Boondock Saints) and Temuera Morrison(Jango Fett, clone troopers in the SW prequels, Captain Rex and other clone characters across SW animated media, and Boba Fett in The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett)in roles that were different what I had seen them in. James Wan did a great job with this one, if only he would do more DC movies. I'm looking forward to the sequel coming out in December.

The scary parts is because this movie was directed by James Wan, he direct: Saw (first one) and produce the rest, Dead Silence, The Conjuring 1 and 2 and produce the third one and his multiple spin-offs, Insidious 1 and 2 (producer on the rest)... Every director from that genre tries to put his seal on it, same as Scott Derrickson on Dr Strange, or David F. Sandberg on both Shazam movies.

As I said before, I love the Dc universe! Aquaman is one of my favorite superhero movies, the story is one of the best I've seen in a movie! The film has action, drama, comedy at some stages I had a little and I cried and at others I laughed to death! Each character is very well built and motivated.

I love Laura's reactions and genuine excitement. She is so sincere and sweet. You two are the best duo! It's too bad this continuity of DC movies has ended. Aquaman 2 is the last of this universe and comes out in December. It's not for a few movies down the line, but I am looking forward to when you two get to The Suicide Squad. One of my top 3 in the DCEU.

While I'm interested to see what James Gunn is going to do, it kind of sucks that they can't restart the universe without recasting every character.

Life can be strange when we are born as an only child without knowing what is like to have a brother or sister in our life. At least in the future we are given every chance we have to find the right people who we get to know each other, working things out together, making our memories beautiful as our dreams, increasing our trust as high as from the earth to the stars.

Despite all the Amber Herd hate, I still loved this movie and am really looking forward to the upcoming sequel. Atlantis looked awesome. Mamoa does a great job as Aquaman even though the actor playing Ocean Master looks more like the comic book version of Arthur. Black Manta was always one of my favorite villains on the old Superfriends cartoon back in the day. Truly an evil villain.

Dang Laura almost went lovesick when Aquaman is being a badass and strong

This is one of my favourite films in the mostly-lacklustre DCEU, and I say this despite a general dislike of Jason Momoa. Hope you'll do an Aquaman II reaction when its on streaming- critics have mostly been hard on it, but I (and a lot of other people, judging by its audience scores) really enjoyed it, and I found it a good follow-up/conclusion to the events and themes of this film.

Two things... One, I'm so blessed that I met Jason Momoa before Batman V Superman and ZS Justice League Two, I dressed as Aquaman for Halloween using athletic clothing 😅

In the comics, Aquaman was always drawn to resemble Orm - blonde and lighter-skinned.

Jason Momoa was brilliant in Stargate Atlantis. If you like him, you should definitely watch it!

Hey ladies, luv the channel..ur both looking beautiful as always..glad u liked this film..i loved it...i dont blame Aquaman letting Black Mantas Dad die..they are villians and killers...They murdered the guys on the Submarine just doing their jobs, he could of saved them but do they deserve his help! No! they wouldnt hesitate to let Aquaman die if they had the chance..anyway apart from some dark moments. it was just a fun movie!! I also loved Amber Heard in this, its a pity we found how she really is and Jason does not like her at all anyway...Cant wait for the sequel, heard there was some problems making it and its kind of a mess but i dont believe rumours..just cant wait to watch in cinemas at Christmas..Stay Cool, stay fun, stay beautiful..much luv from Ireland☘️💚

Mt favorite DC movie all-time..The fx, action and Atlantean scenery are so realsitc, and J.M, was perfect for the role..Put it together with an awesome script and a story out of the comic history, ya cant go wrong! Eh, the DCEU as a whole limped along, but in hindsight that was more (though not entirely) due to behind the scenes bullshit than the quality of the films. It was uneven, but it had its moments.

@@ogrosch4568 Having actually seen it now, its not anything revolutionary, but it was fun. Also, "cancel culture" is just a buzzword made up by the fascist right to paint longstanding exercises of freedom of expression and freedom of association sound like a sinister threat to "free speech" (this is not to say I agree with the cuts in Aquaman II because I don't, I just hate that term).

One of the best Superhero movies of all time.

I personnaly don't enjoy this movie movie that much, there are some good parts for sure (when Arthur sees his mother for the first time, that scene always gets me) and I actually like how they made Aquaman cool (thanks to Momoa). Your reaction made this more enjoyable than the actual movie and you both are just adorable. :)

The start of the movie is perfectly done, Arthur narrating the way way his mom and dad met, their cute love story, having him and the inevitable separation. The action scenes are flawless from the very start, queen Atlanna took care of those poor atlanteans so effortlessly. Our high-tech pirates got a cool intro but what worked even better was seeing Arthur throw them around the submarine with minimal effort 😂. It's a scene that pays off later, since this is the same submarine used to attack king Orm and Nereus' meeting. Black Manta's whole motivation, his entire character pretty much acts as a punch magnet for Arthur with the occasional comedic line here and there. The relationship between Arthur and his dad is just perfect and the actors really have chemistry together, which goes a long way. One constant throughout the movie is Arthur's hatred towards the atlantens for what they did to his mom. It doesn't matter if he talks to his dad, Meera, Vulko, Orm, he never hides the way he feels. The flashback scenes, showing us how Vulko taught Arthur everything in secret are so cool and help a lot to establish that Arthur didn't just wake up one day with full knowledge of everything, it took him effort and time to learn all that. As much as Amber has fallen from grace in recent years, she does a good job portraying Meera and she does have chemistry with Jason. Her attitude is a bit stiff at times but as the movie progresses, she warms up to Arthur and neither the romance or the humor between them is overly done. Arthur getting saved and helped by Meera feels quite natural, not forced at all, considering how much of a hothead he is and how inexperienced he is in underwater combat, as opposed to his brother who trained for it his whole life. Hopefully the Desert Kingdom will be covered more in future movies, it looks like such a cool place. You're right about Jason, he feels really natural in the role and his one liners just crack you up. The Trench and all those weird creatures coming from it - that's definitely horror movie vibes and the shots we see as they swim down towards it - it all looks fantastic. Queen Atlanna surviving her execution/banishment might not be the biggest surprise ever but it felt really satisfying seeing her show up to help them, the reunion with Arthur and towards the end, both trying to make peace between the brothers and the much expected reunion with Arthur's dad. A good example that sometimes, wholesome scenes are more than enough, no need for 5D chess schemes, plots and twists to keep you awake at night. Nobody deserves the trident more than Arthur and implicitly, to rule Atlantis. He doesn't want power just for power's sake, he just wants to protect his loved ones and to maintain the peace between the lands above and the water kingdoms. It's a popular trope, those who do not seek to rule always end up ruling because it makes them perfect for it, but once again, it works well in this movie. "Their love saved the world. They made me what I am" - such a beautiful message and it fits perfectly in a movie that already has a little bit of everything.
