Thanks for the review and information. I used dry bags constantly when traveling by kayak in Alaska. They are indispensable, unless you want wet clothes and other gear. That trout looked tasty, so I hope that it tasted good!

That brookie was the best lunch I had all week! Just upstream from there, I gathered some Sagittaria latifolia and just downstream from there, I gathered some wild onion, a few fresh sage leaves, and a big prickly pear leaf. So, I had brookie quickly marinated in cactus juice (I like it as well as lemon) cooked with potato and onion and lightly seasoned with sage. I used juniper for the fire hoping to pick up a little juniper smoke in the flavor, but it was a little windy so I had to lid the fry pan and only succeeded in making my clothing smell of juniper smoke ;)
