I agree 100%. I owned a 550 for about one year and had very much fun with it but I was super happy when it was sold.😂

I put heat reflective tape on mine and it's fine after that. My R6 was way worse, the frame would get so hot it'd burn my knees where they rested on it.

I love the first one shown where the two pipes flow into one boom box and exits dead center under the fender and strait over the wheel. Now that's trick! That one sounds the best too. Good video.

the first one "arrow" the best sound also how he hide under the tail make it more beautiful

i like duals only the underseat one's,looks cool ,yeah they do add weight but i'm not pro racer or anything so it cool

in my opinion the best are the First Arrow and the silmoto

Am I missing something here ?? On two bikes the dimmer revs the bikes from the left (clutch) side ??? Either way I miss my sxv was a great bike such a great platform small displacement v-twin . I had one of the few sxv’s that landed in Hawaii until the motor started pumping the oil into the intake .

Is the SXV 550 a single or twin? Whatever the answer is probably doesn't matter to me as the single under the mud guard set up was sounded the best anyway. just checked a Vee Twin.

@Scott B I read the horror stories and bought one anyway. I regret nothing so far. Silmoto pipe and tune on mine. One of the most fun bikes I've ever ridden. Get it in the proper mountain twisties and it's unreal.

Yep, that's what I noticed about mine. She's only happy at wide open throttle. Going through traffic or sitting in it she barks, farts, popps, misfires sometimes, but all is good as soon as she gets past 8krpm.

Miglior sound? Dual arrow!!!! Moto mostruosa in pista. Peccato il fatto che sia piena di problemi e molto fragile.

Did they sort the reliability issues after the first generation? I remember my friend got the first '07 550 SXV imported into New Zealand and it self destructed after 50 kilometers. I did get to ride it without the silencers and it damn near deafened me. I've always wanted one but they've got a reputation for poor reliability.

James Pugh I think there were serious quality issues in the beginning but over all the bike was seen as unreliable because it wasn’t really meant for everyday use. It was a bike put into production to compete int he supermoto world and needed a lot of maintenance to keep on the road.

@@downsouthtroutmouth6217 this is correct, in order to race a bike there is a certain amount that need to hit production. That’s also why they release half year releases for dirt bikes, to make modifications and have them available for outdoor season

Yes, got a rs 250 and mx 125. Really would like to get the engine out of the rs, serious tune up and then make it fit the mx125. That would be a blast. Any genuine geniuses wanna get involved?
