April 20, 2023 is what kind of eclipse?
Time for a quick review of the different types of solar eclipses - including a look at one that most people don't even know about. 2023 is an unusual year for solar eclipses. Let's take a look!

The hybrid eclipes falls onto my country, Timor-Leste. I'm so excited to witness this on April 20th.
As an Indonesian, so glad to see this rare event

Australia: omg im in the path of totality Philippines: yay good for you im in the partial path :/
Que video INCRÍVEL!! Parabéns pela qualidade da explicação e das animações.
A partial eclipse at sunrise is a sight to see. The sun appears large as it reflects off the water and you look at it if you don't stare. (Since it's very low in the sky you need an unobstructed view of the horizon).

I’ve seen a few photos! It can look like horns rising out of the ocean (or sinking into it if you see the eclipse at sunset).
Can't wait 2052
Let's go philippines
With the Moon hiding only 99.8% of the Sun during the beginning of the annular phase, the "ring of fire" will appear incomplete or broken. It would be interesting if someone photographed that part of the eclipse instead of the total phase. Unfortunately, the beginning of the annular phase over the Indian Ocean will last just over 8 seconds at most at the start. Good presentation!

Thanks! Yes, it would basically be an incredibly "tight" annular eclipse. What would be exceptionally fun is if an eclipse flight was in the path and passed over right locations at the right time to catch the changeover from annular to total solar eclipse.
special April, hybrid solar eclipse
Which time in Australia 🇦🇺????
April20 2023
Ok so I have watched this a few times and I just don’t understand what about the curvature of the earth and the moon’s position make it hybrid. Ok so there’s always a curvature of the earth, and the moon can’t be moving from apogee to perigee in just the time of the eclipse. So what is it about the alignment that makes it special? Question two is, do apogee and perigee always appear in the same sign of the zodiac? My own answer is no, but why? If the moon can consistently be tracked through the zodiac each month, can we also track the apogee and perigee points? But my guess is that they will not be in the same degrees of the zodiac each month.

Just saw the question. The Moon doesn’t move all the way from apogee to perigee in that time, but it does move enough if the Moon is at the right distance from Earth. That is why hybrid eclipses are somewhat rare - the distance has to be pretty precise! Good question about apogee, perigee and the zodiac. The Moon’s orbit changes every month. The direction the long side of the ellipse is pointed moves (precesses). A full answer is too long to type up here, but look up the “line of nodes” for the Moon. You should find some good diagrams to illustrate things and answer your questions if you use that search term.
Today April 20 ha
there are 2 moon eclipse events that will happen in 2023 one is April 20,2023 - An Hybrid eclipse will happen. (rare eclipse) Regions seeing, at least, a partial eclipse: South/East Asia, Australia, Pacific, Indian Ocean, Antarctica. October 14, 2023 - Annular eclipse will happen again and will be visible within a roughly 125-mile-wide path from Oregon to Texas and on into Mexico and northern South America Just six months later, on April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will sweep from Mexico to Texas to the Canadian Maritimes, plunging day into night and revealing the magnificent solar corona for anyone fortunate to be within the path of totality and under clear skies

Correct! Those should both be marvelous eclipses, too! I have preview videos for each of them on the channel. I can't travel to the eclipse in Australia/ Indonesia, but I'm really excited about the next two!

What is the symbolism of the April 8, 2024 eclipse
@TotalityTown

@@bibwagvictor2195 Good question. No symbolism or spiritual meaning. Just a wonderful event. This will be the longest total solar eclipse in most of the last decade, but there are even longer ones coming up in the next few years.
95%-100% seen from Timor-Leste
