That was a great video. Anyone who didn't get to drive a cabover or wasn't trucking back then missed out on the best times of trucking No GPS or cell phones. Just a road atlas and ability to find a pay phone !!! AND .. people helped each other out back then. Thanks JBG

@@24juan68 you probably came along after the 238 and 318 Detroit Diesel ....they'd run about 2600 r.p.m. sounded like you were going 90 m.p.h. but in reality , ya weren't going anywhere ! They were around in 70s and 80s

Well Said, word for word. I had a new '75 TRANSTAR II and yes it sure was the best times. Drivers also waved to one another when passing on a highway or 2 lane road. Reserved parking at a truck stop, I never saw it in the 70's. I salute all the drivers now but the memories of days gone by could never be replaced. Be safe everyone.
That's cool
Peace Out!
Finally real stuff 👍
Sweet!
Woow that is a rare truck ☝️👍🙏💝💝💝

Nice! I saw a truck but didn't get pictures or video.. had "honoring heroes" on the cab

@@24juan68 it sure did Johnny. Is there a chance you can film another Left Lane Project in the future? I thoroughly enjoyed the last one you did. I just watched that recording again a few minutes ago.
Imagine that driver gets a lot of interruptions. Love all the prattle about better times. There was a reason they called them spine busters! The heat in the winter..sort of like a asthmatic mouse breathing on you. Door seals the leaked like sieves.. Granted, if I found a decked out GMC Astro with the Lounge Chair seating.. I’d have it! 😂

@@24juan68 i think so but I’m not 100% on that
Funny how two distinct continents see things in different ways, you guys in North America/USA/Canada get very excited when you see a cab over, us here in Europe have the same reaction when we see an American long nose, I drive the latest generation Volvos Gas powered, a few weeks ago I've passed an American Kenworth, oh dear I just flashed my lights like crazy, so did he, plus sounding our horns, marvellous.

I forgot to ask if he had air conditioner? Or
I honestly didn't think that they drove that bad back in the day. But then, I was a lot younger. I drove the Pete, Mack and International Transtar, which in my opinion was the best driving cabover. Now, I drive a Cascadia like everyone else. Wouldn't mind driving a conventional Pete, since I learned 13 speed roadranger in a 359. Great video. I always give the cabover drivers a thumbs up whenever I see them...
