Applying Solar Colored Dusts with Tack It Method: WHAT??
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Something I've really wanted to try is applying powders that change color in the sunshine onto a tumbler using the Tack It method, just to see what would happen -- it's one of my myriad experiment ideas! So that's what I decided to do in this video. To add a little extra to it, the tumbler I applied the powders to is also a glow in the dark sublimation cup. Oh, and there's a full-tumbler waterslide involved, too. Nothing is simple, is it... The solar gods laughed and laughed.

My guess is the layer of solar dust I put on was just too thin. But it’s still a pretty pastel glow tumbler! 😁 🌸🌺🌼

Did the final layer of resin have UV inhibitors in it? I did that once with a UV paint. Put it under a high UV inhibitor resin which blocked it from showing up in the sunlight. took me forever to figure out that was the reason the paint didn't show up in the sunlight. Just curious.

@@emeraldluxuries in this case, no - it was the same basic resin as the first layer when it change had still worked. My guess is the dust layer just wasn’t thick enough underneath 2 layers of resin and waterslide film.
I could see a switch in colors at the end! Probably not as dramatic as wanted, but still got a bit darker. Love the design! Super cute 💖

Thank you, Sandy!! Subtle is not usually my wheelhouse but I’ll take it! 😁😁
Perfect pattern for those colors even though the change wasn't super obvious. But that glow 🥰 was fire!!
I think it's a really pretty cup. I could see the color change. It wasn't drastic, but still pretty..... and wow on that glow. Definitely a very strong red glow.🥰
Very pretty! It doesn't matter if it doesn't change in the sun it's fabulous. The red glow is awesome. Winner! 👏👍😊
Even if it doesn't change colors in the sun it's pretty just the way it is!!
Maybe the film of the water slide? At any rate, it is super cute! I just ordered some of the solar dust…🤗❣️
I could see a slight difference in the sun. It turned out beautiful! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
I love this even without the full color shift. Very nice!
I am seeing a lot of purple out in the sunshine and I dont remember you adding any purple powders so something changed colors. It turned out beautifully and that waterslide design is gorgeous. The glow shot is amazing. You create some beautiful tumblers. Thank you for sharing them.

Thanks very much!! 😊
I was starting to wonder if the UV protection in the resin was messing with the color change ability. But the glow in the dark worked so well, that seems less likely... Anyway, thanks for doing the experiment!
@luxinda the glow on this is amazing, and although I didn’t see color change, the colors that were there definitely got more vibrant. This turned out beautifully.
It's gorgeous! Doesn't matter that it didn't change. And that red glow was amazing. I wondered if they would still glow after all of the products on it. I spray painted acup once in pastels, similar to the placement of your pastel colors and then did a dawn dish spray and white paint over it. It came out so pretty and I got lots of compliments on it. Oh, and I put a large butterfly on it. Anyway, I can see all kinds of cool things to do with those powders. Thanks for testing all of these. BTW, when you said "we need to have a little chat" I got scared, lol
This turned out very pretty- I like the effect - have a great memorial weekend - how your feeling better
It still really pretty! I love that waterslide design!
Even though it didn’t change colors as expected, it’s still really beautiful. The glow in the dark is cool too! ❤

I still love how it came out even though the colors didn't change the way you were expecting it to. I wonder if the waterslide you added had any effect in that, maybe the coats of spray sealants prevented the solar colors from changing. The glow in the dark looked awesome!
It’s very pretty and the glow in the dark shot was amazing! I guess there will be another attempt at the powder in the future?😊
I was waiting for this video to see how they worked. Not much change however the cup is stunning 😍 I’m loving all the actual original colors with the black outline flowers. Great job and thanks for experimenting 😊you’re awesome 🤩 stay blessed love 🥰

Love this the colours are amazing ❤❤❤
The last one of these I did changed amazingly well but it got put in the window at the retail space and after about a week solid of sunlight it got stuck in its changed color on one side 🤣 it's pretty regardless of the color change!

Yeah, I remember you mentioning that - it’s too bad that it can freeze the color like that, but I’m guessing most folks don’t put theirs on a window sill indefinitely 🤔😁
It’s still very pretty! Wonder if the SD people would have any insight? I have some of these dusts that I’ve yet to use, lol, I have a lot of products I’ve yet to use, come to think of it 😅

Thanks! I’m pretty sure the layer of dust is simply too thin. Blobs or drizzles of the dusts mixed into resin are much thicker, but it was a fun experiment 😊
It might not be as dramatic a change, but it's really pretty! Where did you get the file for the waterslide? It's really pretty!

@@Luxinda oooh, and it's on sale too! Thanks.
I wonder if the water slide provided some kind of uv or solar protection unintentionally. Because if your tests worked up until that point maybe the combo of too little powder and a complete wrap (although clear) could have anti-yellowing in it and might be blocking some of the uv interaction. I sound like I know what I'm talking about, I do not lol. I don't even know if those are technically called uv reactive, that's how short term my memory is and I'm too lazy to go back and see if that's what you said it was 😅 but if that is what it is... That's my guess. The red/orange glow with the flower pattern is really f*ckin cool though. And it looks beautiful pastel as well. Two different cups literally night & day all in one 👍🏼 Came from Ant's channel by the way. From your collab. Love your videos and satire, will definitely be staying ☺️
