Applying for HEA Associate Fellowship through Teaching Recognition

I've just been awarded Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy! Hooray!
In this video I talk a bit about my experience of applying to the HEA through a teaching recognition programme - this will be accompanied by an article explaining the process more thoroughly (I will update this to include the link when that is published).
For now, you can find out more about applying for the HEA here: www.heacademy.ac.uk/recogniti...
And, you can find my Personal Statement and Account of Professional Practice (i.e. my application materials) here: www.elliemackin.net/hea-fellow...

HEA Associate Fellowship Hello Ellie, thanks for sharing your thoughts re HEA Fellowship. It would be great if you could post a link to your successful application. Working in education throughout the years has involved membership of numerous professional/academic bodies which are either desirable if not essential by the institutes I have worked for. I am hesitant to take on yet another membership but as you mention many UK institutes require this before they even consider you for an interview. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Ellie, (can you tell that I'm binge-watching all of your videos today??) great video again. What are your thoughts on studying towards a PGCHE alongside writing up a PhD? I've not been able to get much teaching experience during my PhD and I'm conscious that this might affect my job prospects once I graduate. Any recommendations for getting round this stumbling block?

Hi Sarah. I actually don't know that much about the PGCHE/PGCAP programmes, as I didn't do one. I do believe that Emma Cole (+emmacolePhD) did, so perhaps we could get her to do a video about it? (I tried to tag her in the comment, but I can't figure out how to do it!)
