My last name is misspelled on my birth certificate from Puerto Rico. I had my last name corrected name change in the Bronx last year now my last name is correct. on my birth certificate it still misspelled will that be an issue even though it’s correct in the court corrected with my name change. certificate is still misspelled.

Some native citizens use their driver's license and birth certificate or just a license to go through the US.

You can stay out of the USA for as long as you’d like. You can renew passport as needed at the local US embassy or consulate.

Regular paper is fine.

As long as you get a birth certificate that was issued after July 2010 you should be fine. Might want to get a new copy just in case.

@@ivylenzaeith9272 state id is fine. You may have to include a secondary form of ID but I applied with state ID.

Are you allowed to schedule an appointment with the passport agency ahead, but for after the oath date? I was wondering if this could be seen as misinterpreting yourself as a citizen.

Yes that should be fine. A lot of people are in that situation and they seem to have no problems. Do not forget to bring proof of travel when applying at the agency as they do require that.

Can i use passport card as ID later on? Because i don't drive and i will not have driver licenses.

It can take up to several weeks for that document to arrive. Department of State uses first class mail with no tracking to send out documents. You could also call the department of state as well as USPS to see where it is but the latter might not be of much help.

Yes your son can derive your citizenship and get a US Passport. You will need these things below. Foreign Birth certificate + authorized translation (if not in English) Child's green card or Foreign Passport + I-551 Your Naturalization certificate Proof of the child living in the US under the care of the US citizen Parent(s) Signed and Notarized DS-3053 if the other parent cannot make it to the appointment. Hope this helps.

For kids, parent would use their ID alongside their birth certificate.

@@YeinySegovia Yes, unless you provide the acceptance facility or agency with a signed and notarized DS-3053 from the other party. Sole custody, passport judgements, or even 1 name on the birth certificate can help.

Do I need to include my divorce decree if I included the information in the application and my name now matches the name on my birth certificate? I had a legal name change. It’s reflected on birth certificate, but not the same as original name at birth.

$160 for both Passport book and card. Since you are doing Emergency travel you will need to add another $60 for expedited processing so $220 or 239.53 if you need it with 1-2 day shipping. Though emergency travel can get you same day service. If you are applying at an agency you do not have to use a check or money order as they do take cards there.
