Being able to use iPhone maps is great but how do I keep my radio playing when iPhone breaks in to give a direction. I would expect that radio would silence, maps would give direction, then radio resumes. The only way I can make it work is to keep selecting the audio source after each map direction.

Hi，I have a 2017 CR-V LX AWD, and the Carplay was not working, so I did the factory reset. After the restart, the head unit needs me to input a code to use it. As I know, there is a way to press volume knob in some way to solve this issue. Please help. Thanks!

Apple CarPlay isn't available in the 2017 CR-V LX. It's available in the EX and above. As for resetting your radio code, if you press and hold down the power button for your radio it should reset.

J Robins unfortunately Waze isn’t compatible with Apple CarPlay yet. However, Waze does work with Android Auto. Any app that is compatible will pop up on your screen.

Carlos Giles Campos you can purchase an aftermarket radio that will fit in your CR-V. Go to your nearest car audio store to make sure there is a dash kit available for your crv. There are many after market stereos that have Apple CarPlay and android auto.

Will apple carplay without a cellular connection if you downloaded your areas google map?

Is it worth getting the EXL Navi or is the EXL good enough now that you can use Apple Maps through CarPlay?

Daryl Chang I'm a huge fan of Apple CarPlay. Like I said, I purchased an aftermarket head unit for my 09 Accord Coupe. It works really well for me. However, if you don't get good reception on your phone it may impede the connection quality. The nice thing is that when you update your phone, it updates on the screen. No extra charge. No going to the Honda website to update your navigation once a year. But it's Garmin navigation and the quality of the navigation is completely amazing. If you're looking to save about $1,500, you will be cool with the EX-L. If you want the super reliability of navigation, Garmin navigation, upgrade to the navi version.

I love how it works, but I guess Apple car play cant work over bluetooth?

jrocthadino great question. Apple CarPlay is supposed to used without touching your phone. If you have a CR-V, I suggest placing your phone in the center console. So you’re not distracted or tempted to use your phone. I have a Civic. For me, I like using the little side pocket on center console. It keeps the car looking clean. You can’t even see the cable. A mount is definitely an option but you will see the cable. If you want to keep the sleek look, I suggest the other options.

The Honda Steve it would be easier to simply plunk your phone into a holdster rather than opening the console, two hands to connect the phone. And then more fumbling to retrieve after you park.

I just purchased a 17 CRV Touring AWD and my Carplay keeps disconnecting randomly. Sometimes it works fine and other times it will disconnect. Any idea what it could be? I have already tried using a different cable, and cleaning the lightning port.

And if you do a Android auto video for the CRV can you please show the Apple Music App for Android running inside the CRV. just a heads up, they got rid of the HDMI port, no more mirroring your smartphone, that was handy because there's no DVD player or CD player, kind of a waste of a big screen. and the Canadian Crv has a panoramic sunroof and rear heated seats in their $3,000 cheaper touring model. it's $39k Canadian Dollars (CAD), that's roughly $29.5k US dollars (USD). and our touring model that doesn't come with the above features costs roughly $33.3k USD. Why is Honda of America price gouging America and we're getting less? check out all the KZread videos of Canadian Crv reviewers, they're basically rubbing it in our faces that we don't get the panoramic sunroof. sucks.
