Hey, may I know how do I identify the layer between the glass and digitizer, or the layer between the digitizer and glass? I will be attempting to remove the glass and digitizer together and replacing that as the digitizer is faulty. I’m just afraid that I would leave the digitizer on there, rendering the screen useless then. Also, great job on showing us how to do glass only/ glass+digitizer repairs! Thanks and keep it up!

I appreciate your work and I think your Watch repair videos are the Best on the WWW. I replaced the whole screen on a series 3 gps with a screen from a series 2 and changed the NFC Chip between the screens. Everything is working fine (including ApplePay) except the force touch. I had tested 4 new force touch gaskets and I have no idea what can be the problem. The only thing I know is, that I damaged the sticker which connects the screws at the diagnostic port cover and the screen flex cable. Can it cause this failure? Thanks for your answer!

Good morning. I recently started doing this repair. How do you deal with over spillage and the loca gets into the connector and creates that line down the middle?? Is there a fix for that?

First time I did one was for my mom for her birthday and it worked perfectly with the help of you video, thank you and God bless you. But the next two times I tried were failures. Did you replaced the force touch sensor too? Couldnt see it.. Could it be better to take glue B7000 instead of the 2. duct tape between the FT-sensor and the glass to get it water proof? Thx

Are the glass and digitizer combined? Like they are one single piece and if I wanted to replace the glass I’d have to replace the digitizer too? Is it easier to replace the digitizer with the glass tall rather than just the top glass?

Brandon Tenney the light solidified the adhesive. Without it the Adhesive remains liquid.

Christoffer Sjöblom the touch screen is integrated in the glass, so if you get the glass it should come with the touchscreen.

Hello I repaired my watch by following your video but the screen does not light up. During my Work, i tested the LCD and the screen lights up. After pasting the LCD and the « digitalizer » with b7000 glue , no LCD... I have check everything , i dont Know the problem. can you help me and any advice. Very good vidéo

pierro bonson you needed to have used LOCA to adhere the digitizer to the display. Have you checked that the connectors are all the way in as well?

does using the adhesive to reattach the screen guarantee waterproofing?

A regular blow dryer provides enough heat to separate the glue.

I just wanted to check if the series 2 and series 3 digitizer is the same? I’m about to attempt a repair on a series 3 and can only find series 2/3 digitisers which makes me believe they’re both the same? Can you confirm?

Avid Listener you should be able to use the same digitizer for both series. The display though isn’t always interchangeable.

It's called LOCA glue. You can get it on eBay. You will need a UV light to cure it.

This is real late but it's called LOCA and you need a UV light for it to dry. Do not forget the UV.

Apple has a repair program for this issue on the series 3….took them awhile

Maruf 313 it depends on if you want sapphire which should be stronger and general probably is the ion x glass but it’s hard to say without actually testing the hardness

Apple actually put out a bulletin for this exact type of crack around the screen on the series 2 and 3. The website says it’ll replace it free of charge

correct, but any evidence of damage other than a perfect crack around the boarder takes it out of the running for the free replacement.

Hi, I was doing the replacement. The screen worked fine after removal of the cracked screen. Even the digitiser was working perfectly. But later after putting the new screen with the new digitiser, it didn’t turned on anymore. I forgot to remove the battery line. Is the screen blown because of that ??

I think you mean force touch(3d Touch only applies to the iPhone 6s and up), and yes everything still works perfectly.

When the glass breaks like that apple will replace for free even out of warranty it’s part of some recall

In other words if the touch isn’t working and the glass is broken but the display is fine then a new digitizer is what’s needed. The glass is the digitizer on this model and the repair will be the same as the video

How hot did you go? Most of the time discoloration comes for damage done from the glass or the wire if not done correctly. The screen will need to be replaced either way at that point.

If you have the series 2 or 3 you can take it to an apple store or go to their website Is free to have it replaced, certain watches had a deffect with the screen ao they are replacing it for free if is the model that is shown in their website
