i actually like this battery failure, when the battery decides its done it does the hard job of opening up the seal without damaging anything making this design flaw easy for most people to fix, i dont think apple saw that coming when they designed it otherwise they would have made it shatter the screen so it was harder to fix

I wanted to thank you Mr Hugh Jeffreys, because of your videos on how to repair all these gadgets, I was able to successfully replace the rear glass of my OnePlus 7t that was shattered. I really didn't have the money to pay for an out of warranty repair from OnePlus directly, and I couldn't find anyone local who would replace the glass because they couldn't get parts. (I think it's more likely that OnePlus is still relatively unknown over here in the States, so it doesn't pay to stock parts) I only spent 40$ on the replacement glass from Amazon and saved almost 150$ by not sending it out to Oneplus, plus the added hassle of being without a phone for who knows how long. It is because of videos like yours and Louis rossmann and others that make it possible for a total novice to fix his own phone and feel confident in knowing what he was getting into.! Thanks bro!

Thank you for the video. I was able to replace my watch battery. Disconnecting the delicate battery cable was a bit nerve racking. I opted to keep the screen attached because after watching videos where they remove the screen I was a little reluctant to try removing the clip and cables needed to do that. With the screen attached I had a very hard time putting the adhesive on so I bought the E7000 glue and used that. Worked like a charm and was much easier. I used rubber bands to hold the screen in place until the glue dried. I did check to see if anyone locally repaired them with no luck. To all you folks out there that are afraid to do the repair - the watch is already broken, what are you going to do? Break it more?????

This reminds me of the problems that some models of iPods have, like the mini or nanos for example. What would happen is that the battery would expand and push up on the display, causing the back to have a 'black spot' that would slowly grow. Some models, like the minis, have to *slide* out the internals and with the expanded battery, this would be extremely difficult.

Turns out the adhesive tape that holds it in internally was adhered to the ribbons.. Surprisingly the screen and all of its features still work perfectly. Instead of replacing the screen, I just decided to use some strong adhesive around the crack and it's good as new lol..

Look at Louis Rossman's channel and his never ending fight for right to repair against Apple. E-waste is one of the biggest polluters on the planet. If it can be repaired it should be repaired. Great video😊😊

I would recommend also replacing the force touch gasket. It only costs 3$ and already has the right adhesive properly applied to it. That‘s how I always do it. The important thing is to seal the display properly. What you have to do: 1. Unscrew, unplug and remove the old force touch gasket 2. Clean the frame VERY thoroughly with alcohol 3. Adhere the new force touch gasket to the frame precisely. Then plug and screw it in. 4. Attach the screen 5. remove the upper protective film from the gasket and stick the display down. Of course the display has to be free from glue. 6. This is the most important step: Clamp the watch to a table display down with a reasonable amount of force using a clamp with felt tips in order not to damage the watch 7. Heat the watch to 70*C to 80*C while it‘s clamped down. Then let it cool down again. ONLY THEN unclamp it. Finished! I‘ve tried several methods and this one achieves the perfect seal! My Apple Watch Series 2 is even waterproof after replacing the display! I don’t recommend to try that tho, I just accidentally went swimming with it, oops.
